Got ‘em!

These are official poker chips from the Palazzo Casino!
They’re a nice souvenir from the fun Metallica weekend!

How to get them:

Walked up to the Blackjack and Craps tables with cash or chips and ask if they have them. Show picture and they’ll tell you what to do. No need to gamble.

They’ll have you put the money or chips on the table. They will put the Metallica chip down and swap them for you. Then you pick up the Metallica poker chip.

Exactly. There’s a prescribed ritual for converting cash to chips that is a pantomime for the overhead cameras, to ensure that “what comes in, in terms of cash of chips, equals what went out in terms of chips”.

You can always just buy the chips. Want a $100 souvenir Caesar's chip? Go to a table, lay down $100 and leave with your souvenir.

Casino gets to keep your money like they would anyway, just with fewer steps.

I went to a Metallica blackjack table and the lady had no idea what or who Metallica was. She barely spoke any English. I asked for a Metallica chip and she didn’t help out at all. Some guy dressed up like he was somebody important started sifting through the chips and said, “oh, here’s one.” Handed me a $25 chip. I asked for a $100 one and he said “they’ll be in in about 3 hours.”

We went to the cashier and they only had the $100. Bought that and then went to the tables.

The Venetian is very smart, they are basically printing profit. So many of those chips will be bought but not cashed. I would be real surprised to see a $1 Metallica chip.

They will hold their value. Lots of chip collectors and lots of Metallica collectors.
