Yeah, I feel like this part of his career is never mentioned. You really need to dig deep on the internet to find it. It's a shame that they are not available on the streaming platforms, or one youtube channel for easy access.

Every episode used to be on the good ol' YouTube way back in 2010-12. Shame the Internet became what it is now.

That’s sad - a lot of us on Tik Tok celebrate this time period, YouTube is pretty good too even if it doesn’t have everything. It’s sad that the biopic cut out pretty much all of his teen years including 18, 19, 20- it was a big F you to those of us who really love everything about this time period from his beautiful birthmark that he had removed to the beautiful music he made with the Jackson’s in the 70s. Glad we got some of the music like Think Happy, but it’s a crime against humanity that we didn’t get to see anything from the Dancing Machine Era, Show You The Way To Go, Keep on Dancing, any of this variety show stuff. Luckily there’s so much to watch. I discover new stuff every day and my breath is always taken away.

Yeah i totally agree with that like i always remember watching The Osmonds Show and im from the UK and that was back when we only had 3 channels just think about that fir a moment 3 channels wow eventually we would get channels 4 and then 5 and now we have infinite channels and streaming lol but definitely would have watched The Jackson Show for sure ā¤ļø

He would’ve been amazing on Broadway. I wonder if he ever gave any thought to that. Ik he thought these type of things overexposed him and would take the mystery and all that away.

He was the ultimate theatre kid

It seems that throughout his career he was stunted because they never let him perform the way that he wanted. Hollywood placed strict limitations on Black men, even exceptional one. Michael Jackson is a Genius.

He actually lobbied to play phantom of the opera but they wouldn’t let him. Andrew Lloyd Webber mentions it in interviews. Devastating honestly. Has to be racism, because he would have been incredible in that role in any era of his life. Supposedly he wanted to do the movie version specifically but I’m sure he would have done Broadway if that was what was on the table. It was one of his favorite shows. So many iconic parts that he wanted that they never let him play, i wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to play in other shows and racism kept him out of it. He was an incredible talent.

I wonder if he ruined his vocal cords doing all those concerts cause his voice never had the clean, open, and strong but soft voice he had here.

It was undoubtedly his best performance voice wise.

Milik Kashad on YouTube has an in depth video on what all that singing did to his voice later in life:Ā  https://youtu.be/idU7hm5r1OA

was literally talking about this with my brother today. he was saying how we often are distracted by how great of a performer he was, we're paying less attention to how gifted he was in vocals.

loved his late 70s look. too bad his life was quite painful from there on, but also successful

Yes, looking at him from this era instantly calms my nervous system. I just talked about this on the CPTSD forum actually haha. Someone asked what’s an unconventional way to calm our symptoms and for me it’s truly Michael with his natural features. He was breathtakingly handsome his entire life, but, something about looking at a version of him that isn’t yet in chronic pain is ethereal to me.

I cherish every clip from the J5/Jacksons era.

Me too. He’s stunning and so perfect in every single way. It breaks my heart to know how awful he felt about himself during so much of this time. The face of an angel, the voice of an angel, the personality of an angel.

I'm so sad I never got to watch these, I think this show is right up my alley, even in 2026.

Michael always sounds good and looks good doing it.

I genuinely wanted to see MJ do a musical on stage he would smash it out the park. Imagine MJ in a musical movie or Willy Wonka? Michael truly has the gift to do anything and make it perfect. Even now hearing these it’s not like oh seen that. Next. It’s oh wow, he’s so amazing. Michael’s voice and dancing never gets old. It’s always like it’s the first time hearing it. It gets you so excited all over again. Michael’s work really is timeless.
