Michigan Football Play calling.

Is it just me or has it seemed like Beck calls the same plays over and over again? It’s been driving me nuts.

Offense is atrocious, time for people to fully admit the OC is bad

Honestly wondering if he had to dumb down his play book because of Bryce at this point. They weren’t this vanilla at Utah.

Devon Dampier is tailor made for that offense. Utah hasn’t missed a beat on offense with him gone really.

Well yeah they kept all the players on offense mostly. Whitt took the coaches from Utah and BYU and really only Moa was the noteworthy player pull and he’s a freshman

The play calls for Tommy Carr were basically a playground offense and as simple as it gets.

I’m sorry but not trying to be that guy, it’s a different brand of football at Utah and they have different personnel. It is extremely hard to take lineman and force them into things they don’t excel at. I refuse to believe our line completely sucks and can’t run block. That has nothing to do with dampier, that’s fundamentals

Let’s give him more than 1 half of a game with a real QB

Cut it out. What showed you he’s a real qb? Hes a young prospect, with terrible OC who’s play calling should be in question

Beck obviously can improve, I will reserve my judgement when we get to see a game plan based around Carr. I am still in the camp that BU limits the gamelan

I respect your opinion but I am out on Beck. The way he called the 1st half vs the 2nd half is all I needed to see. Hes seems in over his head imo

But BU can’t run a stand in the pocket offense, if Carr can then that really opens up your playbook.

That's the point, give it time instead of rushing to conclusions. Bryce is buns which limits play calling

He just can’t stop running to the perimeter. It could possibly be there once they establish a downhill run game, but Beck just can’t help himself

we keep getting huge gains right down the middle but Beck can’t help himself and has to call another outside run

I don't have a problem with running to the outside as much as running plays that don't IMMEDIATELY run downfield. Stop all of this setup, all of this back and forth, just run up the middle immediately. (It's weird. We all used to be angry about running up the middle on every play and now we miss it.)

It's super predictable and every big ten team knows what he's going to do. I hate it. Glad to see the offense actually move the ball with Carr, but I don't expect us to suddenly be world beaters. It's still Beck calling the same predictable bullshit.

Even carrs option TD. I said, they’re going to run this to the outside and that’s what they did. This play calling is one dimensional and boring.

I have to admit, I was impressed by that run. Imagine how scary that kind of run would be with BU. He's so much bigger and stronger than Carr, but he didn't make that decision and he didn't run that play. Carr did. Congrats to Carr, he will almost certainly be the starting QB moving forward. Such a waste of a physically gifted player. Personally, I think BU just got too far in front of his skis thinking he was a world beater at every level before he was given the opportunity. The massive NIL money didn't help, but we are talking about name image and likeness, which clearly had a value when he signed.

The running back motioning in and handing it off the run at least twice a drive

I hate everything about what I've seen from Beck, like enough w the rhino and extra tight ends. Enough with have just 2 or 3 people out for a route, stop running side to side.....run it up the middle, pass on first down sometime and run mostly a 1 lb 1 te 3 wr sets see what happens

I think this is exactly what I was yelling at the TV during the game the other day. The yelling got me in deep trouble at home..lol

Tommy Carr probably doesn’t have full mastery of all the plays yet, so Beck probably calling from a more limited base set, but now he has a QB that can make the correct reads the majority of times.

Don’t excuse him he is incompetent. It’s fine right now for the reasons stated but he needs shown the door

Take grandpa whitt with him

I am not judging Beck too harshly yet given that he started the season shackled with a QB that couldn’t run his offense that was successful at all his previous stops.

We are seeing how Chip Lindsay is now at Missouri freed from Underwood.

3

u/MiccioC 2d ago

He was doing the same shit with Underwood

1

u/Leraldoe 2d ago

Just three less TDs and two more turn overs with BU

3

u/igotthis35 2d ago

No these plays are straight up ass. We put in Carr, defense backs up because he can throw, what do we do? Run, Run, Throw, Punt. Every time. Beck is an idiot. he is clueless. Totally defeats the purpose of a dual threat qb if you do the same thing ever drive

Even the Tommy rush td i was confused why do that play , lucky enough he got some moves

0

u/Leraldoe 2d ago

That was a good play call, it required one small cut but the blocking was there

1

u/oclotty 2d ago

Which is why some of the stuff was working … base set

1

u/ZombieHitchens2012 2d ago

It’s butt puke.

1

u/igotthis35 2d ago

he's basically chip lindsey all over again and I hate it

1

u/Dead_Inside50 2d ago

Barring today's game, have you seen Chip's offense this year?

1

u/igotthis35 2d ago

Their schedule has been almost as easy as notre dame, he will crack when he plays someone formidable. Like today

1

u/4mak1mke4 2d ago

No it's just you. Nobody else has noticed or said anything on the Internet about it

1

u/MiccioC 2d ago

Wow. You got me. I’m broken.

1

u/MadMartigans80 2d ago

Such a difference with Carr.

0

u/MiccioC 2d ago

To a degree. But it’s nice to have someone at the QB spot that doesn’t look afraid to throw

3

u/jaysouljah 2d ago

He had 47 yards passing… 47! Nothing truly down the field. It’s funny how people watch games through different lenses. They ran the ball simply better, and defense made plays.

1

u/lakeshore34 2d ago

Rational comment for the win.

-1

u/MadMartigans80 2d ago

lol Underwood had 43 passing and 2 ints…43 and 2! Funny how people aren’t noticing the difference with one that takes care of the football and doesn’t force it.

2

u/jaysouljah 2d ago

Sure.. I’ll take the W. But people are stretching the truth.

1

u/lakeshore34 2d ago

Carr did force it. He’s lucky his flea flicker pass didn’t get picked off.
