Discussion How do ads look in your area?
Which candidates are you seeing more ads from? Which ones are they running most? Are you seeing more ads directly from the candidate or from PACs/outside spending?

Abdul El-Sayed Rally
Recently went to one of his rallies. He seems pretty down to earth with the exception of a man who still talks the political game (not unlike any candidate running for office, gotta hit the talking points hard). Reminds me of Obama when he speaks which is reassuring. I like most of his running game. However, I'm still trying to understand how exactly Medicare can be for all?
I believe health reform is overdue but how can he deliver that promise? Enlighten me plz

Discussion MI Political ads
Do all these ads actually sway people’s votes? They don’t inform anything and both sides seem to be smear campaigns to me?
Just looking for Y/N here, not a political debate in the comments.
Can’t wait for Election Day to be over….

Discussion Waking up on Nov 4: My Prediction to the Senate Race
As we all know how the polling during the primaries were way off for AES, I think the race would be even closer than what we would have expected.
I'm not aiming for accuracy here, but as of now, I don't have Muskegon or Bay counties in blue, and I'm even having doubts if Grand Traverse would be blue...
Some notable margins that I think could be slightly off:
Macomb 52.3% Rogers to 47.7% AES
Muskegon 50.2% Rogers to 49.8% AES
Bay 52.2% Rogers to 47.8% AES
Saginaw 50.8% AES to 49.2% Rogers
Grand Traverse 50.4% AES to 49.6% Rogers
What do you guys think?

Also early polls opens from 24th, so plz go vote :>

Activate Michigan Voting Information for November 3rd
Early Voting is an option for the upcoming Midterm elections. Here are a set of resource that can be helpful for planning your vote.
- Early Voting information
- Track your ballot - if you voted by mail
- Election day polling place lookup
- You can register online for a few more days, up to 15 days before the election.
- After that you must go to your local clerk's office.
I know that graphic looks crazy, we reached out to over 5,500 candidates to ask them to share their views with Michigan voters to help ensure that everyone votes from the top all the way to the bottom of the ticket this cycle.
While in national elections or statewide elections may be decided by hundreds or tens of thousands of votes. Local races will be decided by only a handful of votes meaning that for each person seeing this, your vote WILL MATTER!
If you want to see your specific candidates you can see that here (app | web).

Prognosticators Believe Dems Sweep Top Of Ticket, Republicans Narrowly Retain House
MIRS News had 203 political junkies who filled out the MIRS Master Prognosticator survey. The majority believe Democrats will retain control of the statewide constitutional offices, Abdul El-Sayed will be Michigan's next U.S. Senator, Democrats will pick up one state Senate seat and Republicans will narrowly retain control of the House, 56-54. The survey also has the granular results in the story itself for those who are interested.

Why hasn’t Haley Stevens campaigned with AES yet? She endorsed him but won’t campaign with him. Why?
Is she secretly wanting him to lose so she can run again next time? Will she try to use the “you see. AES can’t win in a general election” shtick if he loses to Mike Rogers?

Opinion Report from meeting with Jack Bergman
A meeting with Jack Bergman MI-01. Reposting from other sm. I was not there personally
We promised you a report on Melissa's meeting with Jack Bergman. Here it is.
Monday night, Melissa, along with five other MI-01 constituents, sat down with Rep. Jack Bergman in his Traverse City office for 90 minutes. This is the meeting that took three months, two reschedules, and one 200-mile drive to a U.P. meet-and-greet to make happen. You already know that part.
What you don't know yet is what happened inside that room.
Melissa opened by thanking Bergman for meeting with the group and noting that the day happened to be Indigenous People's Day. He scoffed, laughed, and rolled his eyes... in a district with one of the strongest and most vibrant Native communities in Michigan. That was the first thirty seconds.
It didn't get a lot more encouraging from there.
Meeting attendees went in with five questions about real issues affecting real people in this district. What they got back, in the words of one attendee, was "lots of stories and no action." Bergman talked at length, often going well off topic, and rarely gave a direct answer to a direct question.
A few things stood out.
On Medicaid and Rural Health
Bergman asked the group whether they agreed the country was founded on states' rights, then described his high-level work at the Department of Defense. He couldn't give a specific answer about what would replace the funding Michigan stands to lose under the One Big Beautiful Bill -- billions of dollars that keep rural hospitals open and mental health services running.
On Social Security
He said he'd heard nothing about privatization. What he did describe was a three-tier plan: people 55 and older keep what they have, ages 30 to 55 get "a different plan," and anyone under 30 gets "an entirely new plan." He offered no details on what those plans actually are. Make of that what you will, especially given that his own president said publicly, just days before this meeting, that he wanted to privatize Social Security.
Ice Storm Recovery
On the $357 million in recovery funds that have been sitting undelivered for 17 months, Bergman said he would "check where the money was" (shouldn't he know?) and suggested Michigan would need to "buck up" as infrastructure pressures mounted. He did not say the federal government would help, so buck up Northern Michigan!
On The War In Iran
He said he "doesn't play in the media" and would not make any public statement expressing concern about the war — even when asked directly by constituents whose family members and fellow servicemen are confused and upset about it.
On Accountability
He used that word several times. He just didn't demonstrate it.
There was one moment that revealed something we think is important about who Jack Bergman actually is. The group noted that Trump's name doesn't appear on all of his campaign signs, which Bergman confirmed. He picks and chooses where to use the Trump endorsement. Politically smart maybe, but it also means he knows exactly what that name does to certain voters, and he's making a calculated decision to hide it from them when it suits him.
He's playing both sides of a brand he's not sure he fully believes in, while voting with that brand nearly 100% of the time.
To be fair, he was more open to the conversation than some expected. The door to a follow-up meeting is not closed. And our members who were in that room were sharp, prepared, and represented this community with real dignity.
But open doors don't mean much if nothing changes on the other side of them.
The only thing that has ever made politicians like Jack Bergman actually accountable is losing. November is coming.
My opinion
Bergman is a complete old man sus grifter. Anyone who votes for him is a fool
