I was allowed to roam the neighbourhood from the age of 8. I just had to be home by dinner time and could then go back out for a further hour (if it was light in the summer). I did nearly get kidnapped once but I was too fast on my bike. I didn't report it because I was scared I wouldn't be allowed out again.

I once had some random dude in an 80s Camero stop me when I was walking by myself. He said he was a cop (which there is no way that was true) and told me he was looking for kids that were tagging in the area so I needed to pull everything out of my pockets and show him. I was like okay and I didn't have anything in my pockets because I was like 13. He just looked around and was like okay bye and took off. Still no clue what that was about. We were next to a busy road and I kinda wonder what would hand happened if there were less people around. 🤷
