This does nothing for me but I will fight for your right to post it

In an era of online censorship and the revitalization of Puritan ethics, posting renders of video game characters with the majority of their body weight concentrated in their thighs and ass is technically a form of praxis.

Is there a way to get the gooners out of here? Can we not enjoy a creative and expressive peice of art without having to constantly want to fuck it.
10
u/EtherFlask Jun 15 '26
ah see the most effective tool to not have to deal with that is to turn on the (on by default) blur option.
suddenly you can avoid any discussion on the subject you dislike, and avoid any stain upon your virgin eyes!
its like magic!

I see you must be new to the internet. Allow me to enlighten you to one of the most important things you can learn about it.
Rule 34 of the Internet: If it exists, there IS porn of it.
You cannot avoid it, you cannot hide from it. It is a certainty no matter where you go. This isn't your Christian Minecraft server. The only thing you can do is ignore it. Block the people who post stuff you don't like.
Honestly though, this isn't my cup of tea, and it is horny, but it could be so much worse. This is insanely tame.

u/nissan_al-gaib Jun 16 '26
My friend I've been around for years before the internet even existed, rule 34, furries, deviantart thirst art - these are all things I've witnessed many times (war never changes).
I don't take issue with any of them in isolation, however coming to a sub about a game or interest is very exhausting to constantly see (mostly female heroes) hyper sexualised for the goonfolk.
All I'm saying is could we not have specific subs for people who want to jerk it to mice and let the rest of us enjoy sharing gameplay, lore, trivia and discussion of the game.
2
u/TheDemonPants Jun 16 '26
This isn't even that bad though. The problem I have is that you complaining cause someone made a curvy model like it's flooded this sub with porn. I've already seen much worse art of Mina that uses her canonical look floating around. If that was getting posted, I could understand, but one 3D model isn't horrible.

u/junttiana Jun 15 '26
Every single popular indie game gets the gooner treatment nowadays š
6
u/Level_Hour6480 Jun 15 '26
The community either deals with the gooners, or the gooners push out the normies.

u/nissan_al-gaib Jun 15 '26
Honestly it's deeply embarrassing. It feels like this generation cannot enjoy something, especially featuring a female coded character, without an instant need to sexulaise them.
We could talk about the art direction, the wonderful lore and world building, creating expressive fanart is totally fine. But reducing everything down to "I want to have sex with a mouse" is so reductive and shallow.

There are a lot of things I appreciate about Mina as a character. Her personality, design, and stuff like that appeal to me, and I do find myself attracted, but I donāt treat her as a sex object, nor would I want to. but there are people who appreciate all those things about her, and still indulge in the adult stuff because they already like the character. It is a sign of how well designed she is, that most creators take it as a compliment

Started playing last week and this sub was a boon for when I was stuck. I was wondering when it would turn into gooner shit.

DW this same misogynistic bullshit was around on the internet 20 years ago too
It's a long standing cultural problem with gamers

Fucking furrys man

u/TheDemonPants Jun 16 '26
Hating on furries in 2026 is honestly kinda sad.

u/Beans4802 Jun 16 '26
I know not all furries are like this, but I'm sure they'd get less hate if they didn't post stuff like this.

u/TheDemonPants Jun 16 '26
This isn't that bad though? Sure, it's sexual and curvy, but it could be so much worse. This is pretty tame all things considered.

Man she is so much more masculine and aggressive in game but I guess to each their own in regards to how one makes art of her
13
u/ShamrockSeven Jun 15 '26
Not at all she is literally designed to be little weak mouse that is strong because she is a brave hollower. - She is not masculine or a thick sexy girl. She is a timid little mouse with a brave soul.
1
u/Yanagi____Juniper Jun 15 '26
I mean she is a small mouse yeah but she has some more masculine accents in her facial expressions and such
11
u/VoxTV1 Jun 15 '26
But jokes aside mina is a very standard badass but also cute trope. She is closer to kirby than anything else
6
u/ShamrockSeven Jun 15 '26
I get a ānerdy girl that isnāt afraid of anythingā vibe from her, but thatās mostly because she is canonically far sighted and needs glasses to read and write.

i think it speaks more about the artists who feel compelled to give her eyeliner in every other portrayal even tho her appearance is rather androgynous in the game. why do ppl feel the need to apply a traditional feminine feature just because of she/her pronouns? it must stem from certain pplās relationship with gender and character design.
2
u/VoxTV1 Jun 16 '26
You are confusing lack of feminine features as a presence of masculine ones. Also I do not think artists aplying them is a real issue simply as long as they do not invalidate other potrayals.
1
u/IDontGiveAWhale Jun 16 '26
no iām not confused, the word i used was androgynous. iām not the first guy you replied to if you didnāt notice. my observation with the eyeliner is that many people draw it as a given. i really would have no problem if certain peopleās creative choices led to them giving Mina, or ANY character, eyeliner or feminine makeup features; it just seems a little *compulsive* to some artists.
āMina is a girl so iāll make sure thatās communicated in her eyes.ā
