Question Quick question about Klumpy Dee in the Molten Foundry

I am in Western Wilds and went into the Molten Foundry and found Klumpy Dee and he told his joke but he didn't give me anything. I watched a walk-through clip and in that clip Klumpy Dee told Mina thanks for being gentle with me or something and gave Mina a bone worth 150. I kept trying to talk to him and he told me the same joke but again I got nothing from him.

Does anyone know why?

If you attack him when he jump-scares you he doesn't give you anything

Thanks. I don't remember attacking him but if I leave and come back and listen to his joke can I get the gift from him or is that gone?

As far as I know, if you don't get something the first time you talk to him at any particular location, he'll never give you anything there.

I truly don't remember attacking him lol but I guess I did. Is this needed for total completion of the game? I mean do I need to get his "gifts" to get 100% completion?

No. It isn't even recorded anywhere.

You can't lock yourself out of 100%. The most you can do is have a few schoolkids and a very cold bird die and get their quest rewards elsewhere.

Partially untrue, Attacking him counts as a crime for the end of the game, so it is recorded, at least once. Still doesnt change anything.

No idea. I highly doubt there,'s any limit and nobody has mentioned one here. Although I do wonder whether anything happens if you keep letting them die, like if there might be an easter egg dialogue or something.
