Misty has always felt that Jessica wasn't good enough for Luke. And Jessica doesn't like Misty because of her attitude and disapproval. Also, Misty is a disciplined FBI agent, and a veteran of law enforcement. Jessica on the other hand is more cynical, self-destructive and private. Which leads to friction between them. I wonder if this feud will ever turn up in the MCU? These images are from, Jessica Jones #1 2016, Jessica Jones Marvel Digital Originals #1 2018, and The Defenders #9 2018.

I will say, although Misty is a master martial artist, Talia is superior in hand to hand combat and stealth. She is also a master assassin. But Misty's bionic arm packs quite a punch and it comes with a few tricks. It's a skill vs tech matchup. The fight takes place in an abandoned subway station.

We really haven't gotten to see Misty's intelligence and her expert tactical mind at work yet in the MCU. And I feel a Hero For Hire series could really bring that out. In the comics Misty is often the leader and tactical mastermind behind certain street level operations. She's an expert detective, who has a background with the NYPD and the FBI, and she has connections with many different heroes and sources. I would love to see her intelligence and investigative skills explored further.

This is a tricky question. Because it can go both ways. If we're looking at the real world publication history, then it was revealed that Misty got her bionic arm in Iron Fist #3 1976. Bucky got his bionic arm in Captain America #11 2005.

But if we're looking at the 616 universe timeline, then Bucky got his arm during Project: Winter Soldier in 1954. And although Marvel doesn't say exactly when Misty got her bionic arm. We know that in Misty's first appearance in Marvel Premiere #21 1975, she didn't have a bionic arm yet. It wasn't written that she had one until Iron Fist #3 1976( her origin story was also written in Iron Fist #6 1976 ). Also, Misty represents pop culture of the 1970s. So, it's safe to say that Misty probably got her arm in the early 70s.

Pam Grier's iconic presence and commanding performance style made her the perfect choice for Marvel's Misty Knight. She embodied the strength, charisma, and resilience that define the character. Her classic roles in the 70s as a fierce and independent heroine paved the way for her to bring authenticity and depth to Misty, a character celebrated for her own powerful and inspirational attributes.

In the 1970s , as black culture was making waves in music, film, and television, comics was also beginning to reflect the changing times. One of the trailblazers in the movement was Avery Jones, a talented artist who played a crucial role in introducing Misty Knight, one of the first black female superheroes in mainstream comics.

Avery Jones alongside writer Tony Isabella, helped bring Misty Knight to life. A former NYPD officer turned private investigator, Misty was more than just a side character- she was bold, intelligent, and a skilled fighter, with a bionic arm courtesy of Tony Stark himself.

Misty knights debut in Marvel Premiere #21 1975 made history. It offered black readers a character who reflected their strength and resilience. Over the decades, she became a central figure in Marvel's street-level hero scene, often teaming up with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the X- Men's Storm.

Jones work paved the way for greater representation of black women in comics, proving that heroes come in all colors- and that their stories deserve to be told.

This is still one of my favorite action figures in my collection. Her appearance was done very poorly when I first got it. So, I decided to send it to a custom action figure shop on Ebay, (toybox_customs). They did a fantastic job. I even had her gold revolver repainted to look like her 1970s Colt Python police model. I will definitely be using them again.

The teamup you didn't know you needed!

So, I mentioned in a previous post that I would list Misty Knights bionic arm abilities. This obviously isn't all of them, but this is most of them in modern comics.

Starting off, a very important bionic arm upgrade Misty would receive would come from Tony Stark. He gave her an arm made from diamonds interlaced with Antarctic Vibranium( Daughters Of The Dragon #4 2006 ). The Antarctic Vibranium arm could liquefy metals including Adamantium( Daughters Of The Dragon #6 2006 ). The arm is also 75 times stronger than an average human. Allowing her to grip, punch and throw among other things. It was able to destroy a heavy metal door and shoot cryo freezing beams as well ( Heros For Hire #7 2007 ).

Later, Danny Rand would add upgrades, including Magnetism . Misty could lure heavy metal objects like tvs ( Shadowland Blood On The Streets #3 2010 ), and the ability was also powerful enough to repel herself and others 10 feet into the air ( Shadowland Blood On The Streets #4 2010 ). She also was given concussive energy blasts ( Heros For Hire #8 2011 ).

From there, she would receive technopathic abilities that allowed her to interface with, control, and manipulate electronic systems and machinery ( Black Panther & The Crew #1 2017 ). She also could produce energy shields , and she could dial up the size of her shields to protect others ( Hunt For Wolverine: Weapon Lost #4 2018 ). She was even given a powerful sonic emitter that allowed her to fight Carnage and other symbiotes ( Lethal Protectors #1 2019 ).

The last two upgrades I'll mention is her Iron Fist like ability that allows her to charge her fists ( Ravencroft #4 2020 ), and her wolverine style claws ( Ravencroft #5 2020 ). So, as you can see, Misty has a wide range of abilities. It'll be interesting to see if the MCU adapts any of these abilities once she makes her return.

What did you think of their on-screen chemistry? Do you think they'd still make good teammates now that Luke is married to Jessica Jones?
