Encouragement Wanted i passed my licensing exam today!!!!
hi mom(s) 🥰 after 8 grueling years of school while managing my chronic illness, i finally did it! after i got my exam results i felt exhausted yet relieved. but now, hours later i just feel wired and on edge. can’t sleep! excitement maybe?.. with a teeny drop of grief.
my bio family is alive and we have a non-existent relationship since i refused to be the family scapegoat/therapist/emotional toilet anymore. but even though i shouldn’t care it still stings a bit. my celebration strangely feels like a reminder of yet another milestone they’re not present at. i didn’t anticipate feeling this way after such a big accomplishment though im hoping some positive feedback here can help me turn my thoughts around thank you! ☺️

Kiddo, understand how it is, feeling super proud at some accomplishment and wanting to run and share it with your... Oh wait, that's right, they suck. Truly an accident of birth.
And through chronic illness too! As a Fibro Baddie I know how hard this is.
It's actually why I'm here! To tell you that I see you've worked so hard, put in so many painful years and I am so proud of you - not just for the accomplishment, but the perseverance it took to make it.

Hello dear, I am so immensely proud of you! And I am sorry that your bio family are unsupportive twat waffles who don't understand what an amazing human being you are. I hope that you have already got, or are able to build, a non-biological village of mutual love and support. And of course you have all of us in this sub. 🥰

Congrats! What’s your licensure in? What area do you want to practice in? Are you going to go big corporate, small firm, venture out there solo? Do you get to put fancy letters after your name on your business card now? It’s very satisfying to put fancy letters after your name on a business card or email signature.
It’s so hard to focus on the good stuff with those intrusive thoughts about nasty relatives. I’m still struggling with a lot of what you’ve already accomplished: I was still the scapegoat/shitee after getting my professional licensure. Then I continued to be treated like an errant child after getting married and having a kid and starting a business even when the Golden Child didn’t manage any of that. Never enough, and the belittling probably got worse the better I did to appease the Golden Child. I’m so pleased you managed to cut those jerks out of your life before this huge achievement! It took me way longer. You are kicking ass. Now, go party this weekend, then go accomplish great things!

You did it! I always knew you would. You have been through some tough times, but you used those lessons to your advantage and did what needed to be done for your sanity. And now you have accomplished this! I am so proud of you! And since the people you cut off would have ruined the mood, I am glad they are not there, but I do wish you had been dealt a better hand. Another thing I am proud of you for: cutting out people who hurt you instead of trying to make yourself into someone they would love better. I did that for far too many years. I thought if I just accomplished enough, my mom would love me. That is insane, of course. Cutting her off was the best decision I ever made. Cheers to you!

Congratulations sweetheart! I'm so so happy for you!! If you were here, I'd give you a big hug of congratulations. Don't worry about the family, their loss your gain. I'm pretty much divorced from mine also. Peace of mind and quiet are a wonderful thing. So, what's your next step now that you've passed?

You did it! You made it! You did a great job!
You were working so hard that now it’s done, you are crashing. Think the day after a big holiday, all the excitement just stops, and nobody knows what to do with themselves. Take a lovely bath, with whatever additives are your favorite. Then snuggle up and read, watch tv, color, listen to music, whatever calms you most.

Hey, duckling. I'm sorry about your family, but I'm absolutely delighted for you and proud as hell. To have accomplished so much in the face of such difficulty says a whole lot about your inner strength and resolve. Walking away from a toxic family is so hard and so... complicated. I've been there. I am there. But you're in the right place. Congratulations, amazing you!
