Help with Four Horns

Hello anyone So I’m playing MHF1 andhave been enjoying it for the past week (put like 60hrs in) but I’m currently stuck on the HR2 Guild quest Four Horns, currently with full Elder Rathalos Armor and Uranos LBG I’ve been on this quest for about 3 days and just can’t seem to ever get the kill on the second one in time although the first only takes like 15-20 minutes. Is there any recs for what LBG or armor to use??? Any help is appreciated! I have also done all elder quest except I believe 2 urgents and 1 4*

This quest is a real pain in all of the gen 1 games. I don't know enough about bowgun to recommend anything, but the Plesioth greatsword or lance should make short work of it.

Think it took me about 35 minutes with the greatsword.

What about SnS? Cuz at this point I hear sns is op and I might just grind all over to make one and maybe azure rathalos for ear plugs, this quest is genuinely awful

It's been like 15+ years since I played MHF (that was actually my last MH game before Wilds lol). SnS was ridiculously good, definitely the best class in the game. I also played lance against diablos such as the dual black diablos Four Horns in G Rank.

I want to say there's a water SnS that's good for lower rank, but idk if it's in the Diablos+ version or the base one you're on.

Yeah I just tried to give out another try with lbg but I just can’t, time to farm for an op SNS, I’m hearing Frost Bite or Poison BattleAxe is good so ig frost bite is what I’ll go for

Honestly I want to say frost edge rings a bell. I can try to charge my PSP sometime and check what's in my old inventory lol. But yeah, water SNS is probably gonna feel way nicer honestly.

Edit: okay, found the old thing and plugged it in (tbf I had bought a new battery last year just prior to wilds releasing for fun - the old one was swollen and dead). Frost Edge+ is what's in my inventory, so yeah, normal Frost Edge for low rank is probably what you want, followed by the + version for high rank.

Idk what I initially did for G rank black Diablos. The solo G Rank fights in MHF are nasty, all those monsters hit really hard. The dual quests have weaker versions so are much better for farming generally.

I know I used Black Tempest in later Four Horns fights, but you need black diablos parts to get it lol. I probably just used the black dragon spear tree on the initial fights, just since the reach on lance allows you to hit the soft hitbox on the stomach. The black dragon sword tree would have also been a go-to. Pretty certain high rank has the initial version of all those.

Yes thank you! I’m going to try to go for the odyssey since I see it’s damage and element is pretty good and a bit more annoying than the odyssey but at this point I’m doing whatever I can cuz the quest is hell. Even making a HGE set all blue master so it feels like I’m restarting lol. But it’s okay . I also only need one 4* elder and one urgent left until i unlock Lao shun I think, so maybe I’ll even do that to Judy get the power talons
