Director Andrei Tarkovsky positions a wooden model house during the production of The Sacrifice (Offret) in Sweden. The miniature was built to match the full-sized house visible in the background, utilized for specific forced perspective shots and planning for the film's climactic burning sequence.

From the comment to the video: Kirk Douglas prepares for the gladitorial-school sequences of SPARTACUS (1960) in this rare behind-the-scenes footage. Also featuring Peter Ustinov, Woody Strode, and Anthony Mann (the director of SPARTACUS prior to Kubrick's involvement), the exact nature of this California-filmed footage–which was sourced from the collection of Ashley Ward III–remains unclear, though it is was possibly shot for publicity by Universal Pictures and Kirk Douglas’s Bryna Production.
