Who the fuck cares? These employers steal more than you can imagine from peoples lives, and they get away with it because it's in the name of profits. Fuck them.

I mean I think the sentiment there wasn't "won't someone think of the billionaires? đŸ„ș" and more "if you're going to do this, probably don't plaster it all over the Internet or you're going to get fired"

FACTS!!!

McDonalds is the thief for false advertising and bait and switching.

The McDonalds employee made sure that he didn't participate in the theft of customers by making sure that the product he handed the paying customer matched the picture of the food they intended to purchase.

And the food they intended to purchase is NEVER as advertised. You have a pic of nuggets, what I get is old shriveled dried up crap. Same with the fries (unless I ask for NO SALT, but they salt them anyway)

How do you even eat mcdonalds fries without salt? The salt is the only thing keeping them down for me. Those things are so bland and flavorless without salt.

4

u/MrStickDick 1d ago

You put your own salt on them....

I now have more questions: Are you using those little salt packets they give you? How do you control those things? I feel like they all spill out at once and coat a single fry in way too much salt while missing the rest. The fry container isn't good for shaking either to properly distribute the salt.

Are you like pouring it on a napkin and dipping your fries in the salt directly or something? This is newfound territory and I must know more.

I haven't eaten McDonald's in over a decade, I'll eat chic filet occasionally. I have.... Truck salt lol. I keep a salt shaker in my truck 😂 but I'll use their packets if I'm not in my truck (wife has salt too). I don't mind a decent amount of salt. I love me some salt.

I just shake it on their and eat. If it needs more at the bottom, I'll add a bit more.

I also keep a small bag of pyramid salt in my back pack. Probably looks like meth... If a cop ever sees it he's gonna be disappointed.

The employers care. And it’s fair to point out that he should keep this secret.

7

u/thanksyalll 1d ago

You missed the point about how he shouldn’t post this on social media because it would get him fired. They didn’t say what hes doing is bad

I think most people here missed the point.

Don't snitch on yourselves people.

2

u/SpreaditOnnn33 7h ago

Anti-billionaire post had people jumping to smash the karma button instead of actually reading the conversation

5

u/Kqtawes 1d ago

Yeah, but don't snitch on yourself.

u/guska 1d ago

Future employers might care. Now, whether you even want to work for an employer who cares, or doesn't give you a chance to explain is your business, but that doesn't change the fact that some will care.

Being this afraid of some fake "permanent record" is insane. No one at your office job cares that you stole nuggies back in the day at McDonalds. Steal from corporations as much as you can. They steal from you any way possible

3

u/Kqtawes 1d ago

They're not saying he's wrong for giving this stuff away but for snitching on himself. Also don't pretend that black people aren't judged to a different standard than white people especially with regard to theft in the workplace.

2

u/chairmanhao3 1d ago

Wtf is this? You must be replying to someone else because I never said anything about race.

1

u/Kqtawes 1d ago

No you didn't but the idea that people get off scot free for stealing from work is white privilege.

2

u/chairmanhao3 1d ago

Ok? I'm not saying to get caught. Obviously. You seem to be having a different conversation than me.

1

u/Kqtawes 1d ago

"Being this afraid of some fake "permanent record" is insane." Theft from work has in fact followed some people.

0

u/chairmanhao3 1d ago

Ok. If you are afraid of actual criminal record. Be afraid.

I don't know what to tell you. That's up to you and your personal situation.

1

u/Kqtawes 1d ago

When you say that worrying about repercussions from stealing from work is just paranoia your white privilege is showing. That's all I was saying.

As a hiring manager, if I saw someone was fired from another company for “product loss” that would absolutely factor into my decision. Be upset all you want it doesn’t change the fact it absolutely can and probably will affect their future if it happens to them

What’s being stolen from me exactly

6

u/Coffees4closers 1d ago

Wage theft accounts for the largest percentage of money stolen in the US every single year, and it isn't close. Traditionally between 80-90% of all theft in the US is accounted for in employers stealing from their employees

1

u/HeavyMusic93 1d ago

Nobody is stealing anything from me lmao I promise you

2

u/Lucky_Method_3910 1d ago

Hey buddy, do I have a bridge to sell you.

1

u/HeavyMusic93 1d ago

Do you have anything to add here?

1

u/Coffees4closers 1d ago

Were you under the impression that the person originally commenting was literally talking about “you” as in yourself and not the collective “you” as in employees in general?

I want to believe you’re taking the piss but it’s hard to tell anymore

Well I mean technically we can’t steal anything from someone with nothing. Not the flex you think it is buddy.

1

u/HeavyMusic93 1d ago

Look at you. Edgy. Cute.

3

u/chairmanhao3 1d ago

Wage theft is the highest form of theft in the USA. Do you ever wonder why it's never talked about?

https://www.epi.org/publication/wage-theft-bigger-problem-forms-theft-workers/

Your time. Your health. Your general wellbeing aside. Corporations steal from everyone everyday by using economic vehicles to undercut small business. Use loopholes to keep healthcare away from employees. No PTO. No maternity or paternity leave.

At will employment itself is a scam as well. It's all protected by the elite class. So you don't even view these things as the theft they are because a lot of it is technically "legal"

u/FiveHundredAnts 23h ago

Corporate cares. They care a LOT about numbers. And they WILL fire your ass over $100/yr of free product.

Everyone else, the employee, customers, team leaders, manager, franchisee that owns the building, they dont care. Hell, they probably love it! Doing a nice thing for someone feels good, and getting free shit feels good. But the whole job of the penny pinchers in corporate is to pinch pennies. Good people get fired. And dont think they wont spend a buck to save a penny either, they will. They always do.

-7

u/NerdyBro07 1d ago

The problem is people do this even at mom and pop/local joints too.

Sure, it sounds fine when its some fortune 500 company, but there's a lot of local restaurant owners who are risking their life savings, working 50-60 hour weeks, just to earn $60k-120k a year, and when employees act like this and end up shaving off $5k-10k in profits because they just want to give away free stuff, it's kinda devastating. I doubt you would be okay with someone just giving away $10k of your paycheck every year.

8

u/Pikassassin 1d ago

People don't generally advocate doing that at Mom and pop stores. The sentiment is (usually) reserved for corporations with more money than God.

-4

u/Moonrights 1d ago

Those corporations still generally employee people, and places that don't make enough money to be deemed profitable or worth the cost of business shut down.

2

u/Pikassassin 1d ago

The companies (and by extension, individual stores) make billions of dollars yearly. They're plenty profitable, they just want to squeeze every square inch of blood from that stone that they can.

-4

u/PluginAlong 1d ago

Ahhh yes, the old two wrongs make a right idiocy.

Repeating your comment to an employer wouldn’t help you keep your job would it?
