One can acquire a presidency through popular votes by idiots, hacked voting machines, and money. One can’t do that for officer ranks in the US military.
Now that Hegseth is reaching down and tampering with promotions and firing generals for too much 'wokeness' (i.e. being black, female, or nonbinary)...that's unfortunately not as true as it used to be.
Well we just have a bunch of tech executives from the major tech companies that bent the knee to Trump with zero military experience leadership positions in the military one step below a general so they could have access to classified information and all the government information about all of us. So military valor used to mean something. Now it can be purchased.
