This has gotta be one of the best examples of the Barbara Streisand effect

I don’t think so. Once this bad press is over, all the pop stars know they have to stay quiet. That’s moves the needle on pop culture to the right.

Unless this storm is big enough to actually have a consequence for Kraft or halting our involvement in Israel , then the pro Israel crowd just won huge.

I disagree I follow a ton of pop stars who are very open and outspoken about their feelings on the current climate of the globe.

I don’t think they won shit. This is opening Americans to the reality we’re owned and manipulated by Israel

I see millions of dollars a day worth of that manipulation in the various attack dogs about the senate race in Michigan.

Theyve seriously pulled out all the stops and opened all the coffers about that online especially.

There is much much more to it than that. Some bad press lasts a very long time. Hell, people are bringing up Eipstein and the massage parlor thing from years ago. More public support could shift towards Palestine because of all this history and association. That would move pop culture to the left. This kind of stuff is just too layered to cover in a neat little summary.

Do you remember when bands used to rage against a machine?

Now they quietly capitulate to it for money.

Me too. The right wingers have really been asserting control of the media lately. Reddit banned a whole subreddits for allowing Charlie Kirk memes a week ago. CBS has a government appointed censor. Their reporting has shifted greatly. Now they are getting leverage over musicians who have a big influence on popular opinion.

“Chilling effect” working as intended.

No. They accidentally amplified his message by 10,000 percent. They can try and silence him but they can’t keep ducking the question.

I don't see this one flipping.

  1. Too many stadium owners are pro-Israel and they have a huge outsized influence on conerts because they own the venues.
  2. With stuff like this, people want to crucify the messenger unless they are perfect. And Macklemore is definitely not the ideal messenger for this one.

Edit: concerts

Macklemore is going to profit financially off of this, and other pop stars will notice that.

I mean you’d have to be under a rock to not already have known that the Palestinian people have been suffering at the hands of Israel
