"Hey I'm not choosing sides, I'm just hanging out with, creating music with, promoting and validating this guy who's an extremely vocal right wing nutjob. Be cool about it."

Since when does he pray for people? I don't ever remember him being religious even in the slightest..
Edit: seems he has made mentions of his faith in the past that I just forgot about like "Use This Gospel" and probably a few other songs.

Yeah same... I hope he hasn't found Jesus and turned Christian

u/Holiday-Strike 15h ago
He's been a Christian for some time as far as I'm aware

Oh interesting. Maybe he's one of the good ones. I just dislike the Bible thumping society policing Christians.

The whole “having friends with different political opinions” argument has been used so poorly.
Yes, people have friends with different political opinions but people also have individual standards with how the people they surround themselves with express their ideas and if you’re like Kid Rock for example and demonstrate your distaste/confusion/whatever for trans visibility by firing an assault rifle at a bunch of beer cans from a company who showed support for said trans visibility, I think that’s a totally fair reason to drop someone as a friend. 🤷♀️

Fellas is it centrist to have friends of differing political views? As a lib in a red state in a deep red career field, I’d sure be isolated if I excommunicated them all. Funny enough, jokingly ribbing each other’s political views at work is when I feel most American. I also firmly believe the small-scale small-talk between average working people is the best way to bridge the partisan gap the media has created. I think cutting everyone off that votes different is a net-detriment to pulling the US out of the civil slump we’re in.
Never forget, we have much more in common as a working class than we do Red v Blue. Same reason Em and Kid Rock are still friends; they have the shared experience of being in the wealthy class.

There’s a difference between a voter and someone like kid rock who’s actively been a mouth piece for the establishment. Funnily enough there is for Em too who was happy to tell MAGA voters to fuck off previously but his nonce buddy who actually peddles the stuff? Well he’s just a little misunderstood… or something

Remember when Kid Rock tried to make an alternate Half Time show to protest…idk…the existence of Puerto Ricans?
Seriously, the being on a track of his is way less lame than admitting you’re friends with this POS loser. Like, what they do for fun? Go outback and shoot bud light cans with pictures of Fauci on them, while complaining about welfare queens?

kid rock is not a voter, he IS the establishment

Kid Rock is not the establishment, he’s the only loser left in the music industry that would promote Trump and he’s using it as a financial gain because most of his fans are MAGA.
Don’t give Kid Rock too much credit.

no, he is. those parameters make someone part of the establishment. playing at trumps event is part of the establishment

20 years ago, one of the political parties didn’t choose fellow citizens as enemies who must literally be purged from American society. It’s in the news every single day, and has been for a decade now. Republicans and Democrats used to agree on what they wanted for the country but have different ideas on how to get to that vision…now we have diametrically opposed visions on what America should be in a fundamental way. The President of the United States tweets multiple times a day about how much he actually fucking hates half of the country, and people cheer.

My friends have a wide variety of views, some way different from mine & I love spending time with them & doing things. If famous people want to make great music with friends of different opinions, then hell yeah. Make some cool shit & call it a day.

Hmm I don't think it's that vague he's saying he's not choosing sides he's just making music with an old friend... who a lot of people find problematic and supports the president who Eminem did a whole freestyle against... seems like an odd choice to me

Yall are fucking monkeys full of tribalism, let the man find the gray area in this flawed way of black and white. If you wanna be fucking monkeys? Go live like one. This is why we are most likely gonna nuke the planet. Real friendships take mutual understanding you animalistic fucks. As if you got a relationship with the guy. Lame conformist fucks not letting a human find mutual ground. Yall want A.I. to take over and make you blind as fuck. It aint that serious, go join a cult and drink the coolaid if its that big of a deal for an artist to meet mutual ground

I dunno about you but I don't want to be friends with someone who said
"Young ladies, young ladies I like 'em underage, see / Some say that's statutory / But I say it's mandatory"
Or associate with people who are friends with said person.Thats a real kid rock song in a kids movie...

u/Independent_Flan_721 5h ago
Oh I agree, fuck Kid Rock, but its not my place to hate someone who knows him personally and hate for making a song about coming to Jesus. It doesnt fix Kid Rock for me, but hating Eminem for it is simply being tribalistic.

Y'all are adults getting this fucking upset over a celebrity not throwing away a longtime friend of his over politics. You people need to grow the fuck up.
3
u/Mdkwizns 8h ago
you are an adult who doesn't understand that there is a difference between a political disput and a morality dispute. if you still think in 2026 that the right vs left is a "political" issue, you have not been paying attention to literally anything
-1
u/Present_General8130 8h ago
Oh I can assure you I have a much better understanding than you and anyone else that feels the same as you could ever hope to have lol

u/Saffs15 7h ago
This is the most "I am very smart" post I've ever seen.
1
u/Present_General8130 2h ago
Then you haven't spent much time anywhere lol
1
u/Saffs15 1h ago
I guess you would know that too.
1
u/Present_General8130 1h ago
I'd wager there is much you don't know that I do.
1
u/Saffs15 1h ago
I know you would.
1
u/Present_General8130 1h ago
I doubt you know much of anything lol. You're gonna die on the hill that I'm some sad little idiot because I know socialism is parasitic to civilization, but at least you'll be dead.

I can understand having friends with differing political views...
I can't understand being friends with Kid Rock.
