Is he defending Kid Rock and his political opinions? Or is he just defending doing a music collab with a longtime friend? Because those are two different things.

That's like saying "I know friend is a shitty person who treats others poorly, but we're still cool because he hasn't done it to me."

This kind of mentality is so pervasive in America specifically, its scary. I guess it makes sense considering there hasn't been true violent strife in over 150 years, but still.

46

u/HornetHot1318 3h ago

One side is cheering state sanctioned police going across our country, and ripping families literally away from each other, and shoving them in concentration camps, then deporting them to countries they've never lived in before. Without due process.

No, I will not be friends with people who think that that is right.

4

u/SerHodorTheThrall 2h ago

No, I will not be friends with people who think that that is right.

Oh I agree, but judging by the downvotes I guess that's OK to a lot of Americans

15

u/CertainAlbatross7739 2h ago

there hasn't been true violent strife in over 150 years

What do you think happened during the civil rights movement? They all just asked nicely to not be treated like shit and then the government said 'okay'?

12

u/Slayer1440 2h ago

you're a tool if you think there hasn't been "true violent strife" in over 150 years. That's utter horse shit.

u/BeforeTheEmpty 4h ago

Hypothetically, if you willingly choose to sit at a table with or befriend a Nazi, what do you think that says about you?

-43

u/Leading-Dot-311 3h ago

The favorite "gotcha" from the left when right wingers are at a protest attended by neo-nazis. Meanwhile when I see Nazi salutes or hear chants of "death to Jews" at pro-Palestine protests it suddenly becomes "well you see, the left is a diverse group of people so unfortunately some bad apples slip in."

Everyone is a Nazi these days. Everyone is a fascist. A homophobe. A misogynist, a misandrist, etc. People are tired of it. Everyone is sick of being told they're evil because they choose to be around people that are considered evil by the observer. It's exhausting. People are nuanced. You're not a genius who knows the correct way to live out an ethical life and neither am I.

21

u/sleepytipi 3h ago

Not a genius maybe, but "you're no better than the company you keep".

25

u/ShreddyJim 3h ago

It doesn't take a genius to not hang out with a nazi.

-16

u/Leading-Dot-311 3h ago

I had no idea Kid Rock was a Nazi. Has he made statements about exterminating the Jewish population? He might have but I'm unaware of any statements. All I have found are public statements condemning Nazis and white supremacists but I get it. This is reddit. As I said, everyone is a Nazi, even people that publicly condemn Nazis. That was a common theme in the Third Reich, public condemnation of Nazis. Genius.

-2

u/Blue_Checkers 2h ago

Don't be obtoose on purpose. You don't really think you have the slack for that, right?

You have a hard enough time grasping things without pretending to not understand in am effort to exhaust people who willingly talk to you.

When people say nazi, that's their generic for fascist. Everyone knows that, at least if they speak English in the USA. This is the dialect of English dominant here on reddit.

0

u/Squint_beastwood 1h ago

Actually, no one knows that. Stop broad stroking this shit. Get out of this echo chamber and touch some grass.

•

u/Blue_Checkers 29m ago

Lol it's literally common parlance. Most Americans aren't going to quote Umberto Eco or Robert Paxton, they will reference 'the bad guys' from WW2.

touch grass, kid.

You lied when you told your handler that you could pass for a native English speaker. Mad respect for the hustle 👏 👌 🖖

"Everyone is a Nazi these days. Everyone is a fascist. A homophobe. A misogynist, a misandrist, etc."

See, most of us don't have people calling us or our friends Nazis. That's a you problem.

None of my friends are called homophobes or misogynist because we aren't bigots. Sounds like you run with shitty people. Says a lot about you.

-11

u/Leading-Dot-311 2h ago

None of my friends have called me that either. I never said anyone did. You have poor reading comprehension. I think you've got a lot to work on. You mistake someone disagreeing with you as a mortal enemy, an evil person. I've never even voted Republican. It's pathetic I have to say that but that's the way of the world today. Instead you'll claim I'm lying about that while simultaneously making things about me and lying. You're creating something in your head and then taking the time to type it out as if it's true. Think whatever the hell you want but that doesn't mean any of it is true or based on reality.

In any case it's a shame so many of your friends have labeled you a transphobe. No one has ever called me that so I think it's a you problem.

7

u/JeulMartin 2h ago

I said, "None of my friends are called homophobes or misogynist because we aren't bigots."

Your response was, "None of my friends have called me that either."

You were right that reading comprehension is a problem in this conversation. You were wrong about who wasn't comprehending.

At this point, I don't think you have the capacity to understand my message. I thought it was pretty simple, but apparently it was a bit too difficult for you.

Lesson learned.

1

u/Leading-Dot-311 2h ago

"Most of us don't have people calling us or our friends Nazis. That's a you problem."

Cool. I never said people are calling me or my friends Nazis. So it is not a me problem. Only time it happens is some random braindead Redditor once or twice a month because they hate anyone who disagrees with them. In any case here you go: you are a Nazi. Your friends are Nazis.

You and your friends have now been labeled Nazis. It sounds like this is now a you problem as well. I mean why else would anyone label you that? Based on your logic by being labeled this it is a you problem. You should work on yourself. Also here you go: your friends are homophobic and misogynistic. The collective you are now homophobic and misogynistic.

It's extremely concerning to me that there are people out there who have labeled you and your friends Nazis, homophobes, and misogynists. Only people who are those things would ever be labeled those things. That's your fucking logic and you can't realize it.

3

u/JeulMartin 2h ago

"I never said people are calling me or my friends Nazis. So it is not a me problem."

So what are you whining about, then? A problem you've never experienced or seen? One that has never happened to you or any of your friends?

Is it just that you like to whine in public or something?

6

u/Moikle 2h ago

Try reading their comment again.

-5

u/Leading-Dot-311 2h ago

"Some of us don't have a problem with people calling us or our friends Nazis."

Ok and? No one has called me that. I haven't heard any of my friends be labeled that either. The only people who label me that are the occasional random ass Redditor online. That doesn't mean I'm a Nazi. My entire fucking point is just because someone calls you a Nazi doesn't mean it's true. Watch this, I'll apply the same logic:

You are a Nazi. Your friends are Nazis.

Someone has now labeled you and your friends a Nazi. This now means this is a you problem. I mean, no one would label you that unless it's true right? That's the braindead ass logic you're working with.

8

u/JeulMartin 2h ago

"Everyone is a Nazi these days. Everyone is a fascist. A homophobe. A misogynist, a misandrist, etc. People are tired of it. Everyone is sick of being told they're evil"

"No one has called me that. I haven't heard any of my friends be labeled that either."

So you're upset about something that has never happened to you, your friends, or anyone you know? Sounds like most conservatives I know - make up an imaginary problem, then paint yourself the victim and whine in public about it. lol

4

u/hec4show 2h ago

Stop defending Nazis. It is simple.

1

u/Leading-Dot-311 1h ago

Please go back through all of my comments and quote exactly where I defended Nazis. Please just find me some proof because I am genuinely worried you are reading what I've said and then creating a false narrative in your head. But please, simply post exactly where I have defended Nazis. I never did it, not once in my life.

That's the fucking problem here. You label people Nazis in your head, regardless of how accurate it is. You then behave in a way that all of those people are Nazis and anyone who says otherwise it's a "Nazi defender." Like Jesus Christ this is seriously concerning.

But for the love of god instead of arguing against shit I never said just provide the exact part where I "defended Nazis" at any point.

I'm not reading all that, I'm sorry you're a Nazi

-6

u/TerpChasingOrganics 2h ago

Preach. 🙏

These fuckwits are insufferable.

-2

u/Leading-Dot-311 2h ago

These are the people that will happily listen to the Beatles or Led Zeppelin and act like they were godlike beings for some reason. These fools have no idea how much highly questionable shit their favorite musicians have been involved in. But they'll handwave all of that because those musicians weren't "Nazis." Just rampant stupidity all over. No surprise extremist political populists are rising on each side of the spectrum.

-3

u/dachshvnd 1h ago

My brother in christ not everyone you dislike is a nazi. You gotta get off the internet

3

u/BeforeTheEmpty 1h ago

The distinction hardly matters when the people this is directly referencing are wretch’s who try to use their power to oppress minority groups.

Racist, phobes, nazis, it’s all the same and getting hung up on the smallest distinctions is more telling of you than it is of me calling them what they are, which is scum.

-2

u/dachshvnd 1h ago

Nah man ill take the downvotes and its whatever. You see the whole world as "us vs. them" which is literally the same problem youre advocating against.

As someone who is pretty left leaning im comfortable letting you know what others on reddit wont: youre also a dangerous person. In a different way than the racists, but still dangerous. Its absolutely disgusting and I hope one day you grow up and start thinking about how to help your community instead of instigating further division.

1

u/Squint_beastwood 1h ago

You're right dude. Redditors in general have lost the plot. They sounds just as stupid as the boomers on Facebook lately.

0

u/BeforeTheEmpty 1h ago edited 59m ago

It is literally us versus them because I am a trans woman who has to constantly worry about my rights being stripped away. End of story.

I donate to my community, I lend an ear to those who need it, I advocate with the platform I have when I have the means. What are you doing for trans people?

Because all I see you doing is arguing semantics and that we should strive for unity with those who would just as quickly end my life if given the opportunity to do so with no repercussions.

You’re also telling me to get off the internet when you’re the one bringing up downvotes and shit as if that should actually matter at all if you believe the shit you’re spewing.

•

u/dachshvnd 15m ago

Its literally not. Reddit has led you to believe that anyone that doesn't look/speak/act a certain way must be a violent racist or transphobe. Especially anyone who isn't a registered democrat. The reality that you will likely never see or understand is that theres a non-zero population of non-liberal people who would never lay a finger on you and would fight an actual nazi to protext you if one actually appeared and tried to threaten or hurt you in any way in front of them.

For the record, im someone who the right would call liberal and the left would call conservative because i dont rally around either of their bullshit cries for social conflict. And guess what, Ill raise my child to understand that Trans people are people.

u/bastibro 4h ago

That you have basic empathy?

50

u/BorgQuingus67 4h ago

That's the conclusion you came to??

29

u/onerb2 3h ago

You don't seem to know the saying, if there's 2 nazis and a friend of them in the table, you have a table with 3 nazis.

-41

u/RottingAnalFissure 3h ago

Sounds like stereotyping

20

u/onerb2 3h ago

Sounds like common sense haha, wtf, are you defending nazis now?

-1

u/RottingAnalFissure 2h ago

No I stereotype too

You empathize with people that want to commit genocide?

4

u/HornetHot1318 3h ago

For nazis? Fuck no. Do you?

2

u/BeforeTheEmpty 3h ago

Explain how extending a hand to someone who wants entire groups of people dead does any good for the world? I don’t care about changing the mind of a Nazi, I don’t care about Nazis. The world is better without them in it because with them in it life is far worse for people far more deserving of good things.

1

u/Moikle 2h ago

What the hell is wrong with you if you have empathy for Nazis?

56

u/Fragrant-Anywhere489 3h ago

He's amplifying Kid Rock's message by lending his credibility to his projects. Kid Rock is on Fox & Friends calling El-Sayed a terrorist. Kid Rock doesn't live or vote in Michigan. Eminem does. Kid Rock is so irrelevant that his Trump shows fail miserably. Remember the Trump Super Bowl Halftime show that no one watched? The Freedom concerts that were cancelled? Just by having Em attached to this album gives it attention. Eminem is the G.O.A.T. Kid Rock is a goat. There's a big difference.

2

u/Moikle 2h ago

I do not keep people like that as lifetime friends... Do you?

-15

u/GlovesaveNABeaut 4h ago

The latter, but we’re so far gone that people won’t care

7

u/megalodondon 4h ago

I mean when the two are inseperable I don't think it's far gone at all to think that.

-18

u/ModernSmithmundt 4h ago

Learn to separate the art from the artist. The songs remain the same

9

u/megalodondon 3h ago edited 3h ago

what songs? The one where he's rapping straight faced about statutorily raping girls? No thanks. I don't think I'll remove the "artist" from that "art"

10

u/Jozias_Tump 4h ago

The "art":

Young ladies, young ladies
I like 'em underage, see
Some say that's statutory
But I say it's mandatory

-4

u/fatgat69 4h ago

There is no difference here.

-12

u/harrisonjackk 3h ago

This, it’s not that deep, he did a collab with a friend.

-15

u/zach7797 4h ago

This is reddit man dont use logic and reasoning.

7

u/megalodondon 3h ago

What logic? He's positing this like kid rocks music isn't a whole extension of his political schtick

0

u/Cranberryoftheorient 2h ago

Not when that friend is Kid Rock
