This whole chart "blocking" argument has gotten out of hand these are peoples careers not a pow wow. Even Olivia chose to release this song with multiple variants to boost it on the charts the same day as tate McRaes new single was released. There's nothing wrong with wanting to chart and it's not others responsibilities if they can or cant keep up with others in the charts, that goes for everybody.

she didn't though? It's a brand new single with an extra verse ft. Chappel Roan??

Its a remix, and She did release multiple variants of this remix. And with yalls logic she's in the wrong for choosing to release the song and music video on the same day as Tate McRae when she already knew Tate release date. Olivia also had her team release and email an official guide to fans on how to help increase her chart numbers for this last album release and guess what, theres nothing wrong with that! These are POPSTARS, it doesn't matter how much their branding and marketing makes you think otherwise, they deeply want attention and success, and that includes charts, let women want and chase after things without making it seem like it's wrong and disguising it in moral outrage or fake "girls girl" bs. Life isn't all sunshines and lollipops, let them compete

it's a remix, sure. but she didn't release the un-remixed version of expectations as a single. that's what I am saying. it's on the album, but was never a single.

Again with yalls logic suddenly releasing a remix that she could have released a different day from Tate, instead of letting Tate have her moment is wrong, telling fans to boost her on the charts when there's other people even new artists who could have that spot instead is wrong. But truthfully it isn't wrong for her or any other artist to want to chart high, or want to break or have records and awards in their chosen field. To reach a high level of success you have to in some way out compete multiple other people. You guys are so ashamed for some reason for people wanting and chasing things. Olivia's done nothing wrong and neither did any other artist. Yall can stop the fake outrage now, I barely listen to any of these singers but the narratives surrounding them is so strange and imbalanced.

things get released on the same day. more than 365 singles in a particular genre are produced in a year, industry norms are to release on Fridays should there only be 52 pop singles in a year? releasing a song on the same day is not the problem. the problem is the pattern of behavior over time. she does this repeatedly. like every time. it's a meme at this point. she should be uplifting new pop girls at her grown age, not doing all this bizzaro chart manipulation stuff.
