Ever called tech support and desperately tried to reach an actual human, only for the automated system to misunderstand absolutely everything?

That's the premise behind "I Just Want a Human!"

I developed the concept and lyrics with ChatGPT and Claude, used Suno for the music and vocals, and directed a fully code-animated lyric video using Codex.

It's a comedy rock song with an increasingly frustrated caller and an impossibly cheerful AI phone system.

Hi all, sharing the newest track from my AI-assisted project.

"Running to You" (달려 너에게) is an 80s retro synth-pop song at 118 BPM: pulsing synth bass, soft gated drums, muted analog pads, and a hushed, breathy vocal that opens up in the chorus, drops to a whisper in the bridge, and shifts key for the final chorus.

I wrote the Korean lyrics myself. The track was produced with Suno, and the music video was made with AI video and image tools (Seedance, Midjourney, Wan) and edited by hand in Final Cut Pro. English subtitles are burned in.

The song is the fourth and final chapter of PRIMA, a space opera told through music videos. It follows two women from rival ruling families on one night in a space colony, while a few other people run through that same night for reasons of their own. Each chorus means something different by the end.

Hi! We are Apple Sauce, an independent experimental progressive metal band from Italy.

After years of writing, recording, experimenting, arguing over ridiculous details, and probably making some questionable financial decisions, our second album HYBRIS is finally ready.

And we couldn't be prouder of it.

HYBRIS is an 8-track album that represents everything Apple Sauce has become: progressive metal, deathcore, electronics, rap, jazz, absurdity and whatever else we accidentally threw into the blender along the way.

The album also features Jørgen Munkeby of SHINING on saxophone on our first single, 'Nduja No Kami.

We made the album. Now we need to get it out there.

Everything we've done so far has been completely independent and self-funded.

The four of us have personally paid for the production of the album, music videos, physical CDs, merchandise and everything surrounding this release.

So far, we've invested almost €5,000 of our own money into HYBRIS and its release campaign — and we're continuing to invest in promotion every day.

We're not asking you to fund the creation of this album.

HYBRIS already exists. We made it happen.

Fellow music maker here. Question for you all: What are some of your out of the box music promotion ideas?

We all know about meta ads, pay to play, gigging and selling merch, passing stuff out, social media content, blogs…. I’m not asking what’s worked for your bajillion streams. I’m a SUPER niche/small music creator, so I’m asking because I’d actually like to try some out.

I’ll tell you some things I’ve thought about, chime in if you think they are a practical idea or if you’ve tried something similar!

I’ve made/make the embarrassing social media content, and someone asked if I was Keith Richards (I’m a 53 year old female). So suffice it to say, making SM content isn’t the best for my self esteem, I’m trying to heal here 😅

Anyway I have considered setting up a blanket in some urban park or beach where a lot of people are, and play my music on a Bluetooth speaker and see how many Shazam’s I get that day!

I’ve also thought about busking with a full band and PA for a pop-up show (I live near a city with a vibrant music scene).

I’ve thought about stickers with a QR code but don’t want to get in trouble or litter, and my best friend says I’m too much of a rule follower.

A local mailing? Posters in coffee houses? Craiglist missed connections? 🤣

What have you guys either tried, or thought about trying?

I kind of dropped my musical career once covid hit. Canceled tours, moved out of the city and what not. I had honestly accomplished everything teenage me set out to do in music which i'm so so grateful for.

A couple years after 2020 I released one last record with my old band and did a run of shows. Really proud of all of it but the flame kinda burnt out for me. I had changed as a person and i didn't feel correct carrying on with the same project. So I quietly started a new one just to try and feel love for creating again, because the truth is whether i like it or not i'll never stop creating. It's the first project I committed to doing absolutely every step of the process myself (all instruments, producing, mixing, mastering) Even though I'm so proud of the accomplishment, especially how the production turned out considering i have no training as an engineer just time recording in various studios.. But today i released 2 songs that will be on the upcoming LP, and it just made me feel so alone and worthless. I just wanted to type this out to express those feelings somewhere.. I'm sure i can't be alone in this feeling. I guess this is growing up?
