Image Finally got a CRT!
Found my first CRT at an estate sale this morning, moved around some shelves and got it to fit into my bookshelf. Hooked up the 64 and wrecked my wife in Mario kart. Life is good

I've gone ahead and made graphics for the top four slots of each game category! Take a look and soak in all of that Nintendo 64 goodness!
I also just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making this so fun and exciting. And for indulging me in this artsy endeavor! I hope you enjoy these graphics as much as I enjoyed making them; these are just as much yours as they are mine.
Catch me in the next one!

For some reason Bomberman 64 was way easier to find locally

I do not own Mortal Kombat 4 at the moment, but it was a good decision to get rid of it around the last time I posted my collection. There are 27 total. I'll count Yoshi's Story for now, but I will be getting a North American copy soon. With that said, I'm trying to collect them all so I have 269 (technically 270) left to go. I love this console so much. The Mario Kart 64 also came complete in an original box. I switched the one manual with the yellow background for the other one that had the characters on the front since that was my extra one and the one I wanted to keep nice. These are my current top 10 in no particular order (except for the very first one):
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Goldeneye 007
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
Mario Party 2
Super Smash Bros.
Bomberman 64
Cruis'n USA
Starfox 64
Pokémon Stadium
If these were the only 10 games I had, I would be very happy. Tetrisphere is an honorable mention though because that game is fire.

I saw both of these 2 weeks ago at my nearby retro gaming and collectible store and they didn't go anywhere! Both cartridges are practically in mint condition and they each came with their respective manuals! The gold copy of Ocarina of Time was my goal and then I grabbed Jet Force Gemini because of course!
Gold Oot was $160 and JFG was $35.
Fun fact, the copy of Banjo Kazooie in the background in my Analogue 3D, that's from the same place from when I was there 2 weeks prior, I had to return a faulty copy of Donkey Kong 64 and traded it for BK and that's practically mint as well and also includes the manual! They have so much gaming stuff there that I actually want that these people are going to eventually know me by name.
My poor wallet...

Hey guys! Here’s a little look at GIG Tour 64, a rhythm game I’m making from scratch for the N64 using libdragon (not a Mario 64 mod). It’s still pretty early, but the core gameplay is starting to come together.
Right now, the controls are mapped like this: D-Pad Left = Green, L = Red, R = Yellow, A = Blue, C-Down = Orange.
Would it be possible to connect a guitar controller? Pretty sure it is, but I don’t have the hardware or the knowledge to make it happen.
Still got a lot to do:
Improve performance and keep the framerate stable
Tweak the note system
Game speed
Fix sustain notes not showing up
Add Star Power
Add more songs
Work on the visuals
Add SFX
Test out a 3D perspective
Not sure about the name yet
MAKE SURE IT FITS IN THE CART
Would love to hear what you guys think! 🤘🏼

Had all 6 of these tomee 256kb cards I got from amazon almost 4 years ago. They did fine for few years, but now 2 out of the 6 failed. Guessing next year the rest will follow. This was my 2nd play through of shadowgate64 on these cards (favorite game) will be buying foreverpak64 cards today to replace these junk cards.

I was playing the Original Perfect Dark past the starting level for the first time, as I've been thoroughly playing through the Single Player Campaigns of Classic FPS games recently, and I realised something about its symbol that I've never noticed before. I already knew about how it was a, "P" and "D", shaped like an, "N", as it was originally released on the N64 (many N64 games had the rotating N-Shaped Logo so this was very intuitive for me to pick up on), but I realised that if you mirror the Symbol Vertically, that instead of looking like a, "Pd", it conveys a stylised, "64". Has anyone else noticed this?

I was replacing the cartridge port of my N64 because my system's old one didn't work and I found that they have different codes on the front. After some light Googling I could not find any information on what these were or how they relate to the system however since both are parts from the USA. Plus when I look at other N64 cartridge modules online they often have completely different codes.
Does anyone know what these are or what they mean?

Years ago, there was a draw at my middle school to win an N64. No one wanted it more than me. I campaigned relentlessly for tickets, which were earned by a funding drive.
The day of the draw came at a school dance and when my name was called, I was ecstatic. It was one of the greatest moments of my life.
I went down to my local Toys R Us and picked up a copy of Mario 64 and Mario Kart and the following years were spent making memories.
When Ocarina of Time came out, I was in a chokehold and would dedicate my life to beating it and finding every single secret.
Then... in approximately 1999-2000. I was convinced by a group of weeks I was hanging out with at the time that the PS2 and Zone of the Enders would be the greatest thing to happen to gaming in recorded history.
So as a naive 13 year old, I went down to my local Cash Converters on MacLeod Trail in Calgary and traded in my N64 and went and bought a shiny new PS2.
it turns out they were wrong.
Years later, it is one of my biggest regrets in life. I literally had nightmares about it where the Nintendo characters I knew and loved were begging me to come back.
Since then, I have occasionally posted on local collectors pages asking if anyone might have bought it.
Unfortunately it was the plain grey version but it did have discernable features, namely my mom wrote my initials "GK" practically everywhere.
I realize that stores usually remove these markings but when I say everywhere I mean EVERYWHERE included under the expansion pack door (it had the expansion pack as well).
I know that the possibility of finding someone here from my city (Calgary) on here who may have found my beloved N64 is slim to none, but stranger things have happened on Reddit. I don't need to even buy it back, I would just be satisfied knowing where it is.
If anyone also has any advice on how to possibly track it down, it would be greatly appreciated. I've already contacted a friend who is a local police officer and he knows people in the pawn unit but he's not sure if records go back that far.
Thanks in advance!
TLDR: Sold my N64 to a Cash Converters on MacLeod Trail in Calgary Alberta Canada in 1999-2000 and have regretted it ever since. Hoping for a miracle.
Edit: I have purchased another N64 since then but this is more like a treasure hunt/personal obsession I've been on for years, partly for fun and partly out of general curiousity.

Long story short I have 2 n64 cartridge dumpers, the joey n64 and a generic ali express one. I have 4 n64 games, all of which I am 99% sure are real, and despite cleaning the game contacts and 2 of them especially looking flawless to me, I can't get either cartridge reader to read any of my 4 games and I was wondering if anyone had an idea why this is happening if the cartridges are clean. The only game I could get to partially read was War Gods but the rom file would show up all jumbled incomplete and it wouldn't show up every time either (it would read as something like W__ G_d_ when it did). Any help is appreciated.

I came across an N64 today for a good deal and grabbed it because my childhood console doesn't work anymore, and I had an Expansion Pak in it. I switched the jumper pak with the Expansion Pak and the console won't boot. I cleaned the contacts and I'm still getting the same result.
Should I just replace it or is there something else I can try before I drop the cash on another one?

I've been trying to use an N64 controller on my PC, but the ones I bought broke. If anyone has any brand/site reccomendations for getting a good USB N64 controller, please let me know!
EDIT: Decided to go with a Hyperkin N64 Controller with an adapter!

So, I bought an N64 on eBay, but unfortunately, none of the cables I received were the original ones, and neither was the controller. I’m looking into getting better cables for my console, as I might’ve had some issues with my power supply, and I want to replace the AV cable as well just in case.
Anyone know of good quality replacement cables?
I bought this game and it doesn’t work. It seems that it’s very dirty inside. Is there any hope in cleaning it ? And if so, how ?
