When does McGee start growing a beard?

I started watching the series from the very beginning the other day, and he does show up in the first season—first in the episode where Kate and Gibbs go down into the submarine, and there’s also that actor who led the other team on SWAT. And McGee looks weird without a beard. I’ve watched the last two seasons so far, and I’ve caught an episode here and there over the last few years, but I just can’t remember seeing him without a beard. I know, it’s a weird question. What also surprised me was that he has another voice actor. But apparently, that actor only voiced him for a few episodes. It just felt a little strange to me, though.

He doesn't grow a beard untill much later in the show, I think maybe around season 14 or 15?

Definitely Season 15. iirc McGee grew his beard during the Paraguay arc, and we first saw him with his beard in S15 E1.

McGee grew the beard while he and Gibbs were held captive in Paraguay (Season 15, Episode 1).

Yep, he grew the beard then and has kept a goatee ever since.

No, that’s actually for Hocus Pocus, in which Sean is in it. Apparently his voice sounds too modern for the 17th century Salem. This is not the case for NCIS.

they wanted the continuity of the voice being the same for the boy and the cat. so they dubbed his lines using the voice actor that did the cat.

I think he did that yo-yo weight loss thing several times. He would go from chunky to anorexic and then back. He was really hard to watch when he was anorexic looking...

I read that that's when Sean found out he has diabetes.

There’s seriously nothing about Sean mentioning he has diabetes. All that’s confirmed is he himself said on his now deleted Twitter page is he just went on a diet cutting back sugar and alcohol and smoking. That’s about it. 🤷‍♂️
