S24 E02 : Director Dinozzo decided to let the spy be...

Does it mean that il will be the long term arc of the season in background of the episodic crimes resolved?

It gave me Ari Aswari vibes

I'm wondering if it links into LaRoche and the story from last season with Parker/Rogers. If it's been coming down the pike for a while, you would assume that it was happening before Vance even passed.

I forgot who, but someone in here said this could be involved with Gibbs’ arc in Origins S3. This brings up lot of questions. I mean Gibbs did have a lot of enemies, unfortunately. And this may be tied with Gibbs’ 90s Pendleton career, starting with Randy’s kidnapping and Barrett stealing Navy secrets. 🤔

It's amazing how the least ambitious agent in the organisation who in 20+ years has never risen above the level of agent is repeatedly considered for top jobs like Deputy Director of NCIS and now political appointments like Secretary of the Navy.

I don't get what's the blacked line in your comment but if you're talking about Tony ... He had been offered his own team since season 4 or 5 ... He had leaded their team during Gibbs temporary retirement and Jenny had foud him good enough to offer a team for him... And he refused He was also offered a post of director for their office in Germany and he still refused He was unable to cut the umbilical link between him and Gibbs until it became suffocating for both of them post Gibbs injury by the little boy ... With Tali entering his life he left NCIS to give her enough stability away SecNav said it in episode 1 this season... He was her first choice after Vance death ... But he still refused Tony Dinozzo looks like a clown .. acts like a clown but he's excellent agent and fot now he's handling well bureacratie

He or she is talking about McGee. Not that i necessarily agree with that assessment but i get the point being conveyed.

I believe Tony turned down the position because he had to move to another country. W D.C= home.  now, he has decided to set up a branch of the company. McGee was also offered a position in Japan, which he declined.

He wasn't interested in leaving his daughter and Ziva back in Paris and come back but now he settled back in Washington it makes sense ... His reasons too.. he left NCIS to protect his daughter from danger but paris journey turned chaotic 😅

They did leave it quite open ended so I expect Linda Fenwick (the redhead spy you mentioned) will be a major arc for this season.

I seen a couple of theories floating around, like this could be involved with Gibbs’ Origins S3 arc. Makes me think of the possibility of Linda avenging her dad who was either arrested or killed by the Pendleton NCIS team and wreaking havoc on NCIS and ordering a hit on Gibbs.

I’m honestly more concerned if Tony saying “something bad coming down from a pike will happen” meant another attack on the NVY.

Rogers’ killing definitely seem left open ended and it seems to imply Parker may or may not have a hand at his town bully Ricky Quinn’s death. And LaRoche did say “why I have a hard time believing you have nothing to hide”, so I expect him to come back with a revenge and Ricky Quinn and Rogers’ death be another major part of this arc.
