App State Fan attending my first game at Carter Finley Saturday--where do I park?

I'm a solo able-bodied young man who isn't afraid to walk long distances so it doesn't need to be in the immediate area. In fact, I'd probably prefer to not park close to the stadium. Need somewhere that's free or cheap and ideally won't get mogged by traffic when leaving, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

I'd recommend parking in Chapel Hill and walking.

(Sorry, you said 1. You were an App State fan and 2. You don't mind walking) 🤣

edited to fix typo

If you really want free parking and don't mind a long walk, you could park somewhere on Main Campus and walk from there. Not for everyone, but I used to do it all the time when I was a student.

You could probably hop on the Red Terror bus line if you don't mind waiting

Sorry to inform you that in light of last weeks disaster the football team will be doing community service work collecting trash along 440 that day.Ā

Be careful. They might fumble that one too.

Lots/office complex behind Bojangles on Trinity Rd typically run 20 or 25 bucks.

This or you can pay at Cardinal Gibbons lot for $30 day of. These 2 are the way, you dont need to be walking miles from Hillsborough St or other locations

Thank you for posting this because I snagged a spot here and would have driven right past it if I hadn't seen this lol

That’s where I parked for Canes playoff games last year. Do you know if they allow parking there for regular season Canes games? Parking there was much more convenient than dealing with the clusterfuck of trying to get out of the Lenovo lot after the game.

It is not free, and you will have to walk a ways but I like to park somewhere off Youth Center Drive, just head up there from Hillsborough street instead of taking Trinity. There are many homes in that neighborhood where you can park in the yard for a fee. I also find it much less of a headache to get out after the game.

Free / cheap around CF isn't typical. There are private lots / homes nearby the fairgrounds that have parking for $20-30. You can also try to snag a parking pass on stubhub.

I would check out the coach's parking lot, should be some space there

You can navigate to ā€œBrus Public Houseā€ there are free decks and a pedestrian tunnel under Edwards Mill Rd, apparently ā€œHurricane HWYā€ now

If you want a fun spot pregame and don't mind like a 20-30 minute walk, you can park at the nearby North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) and see the beautiful outdoor sculpture park. Totally free, very doable walk for a strapping young lad and a great date spot.

That’s a nice spot. Hell I have a 15 minute walk now in Boone and that costs $650+annual giving so this is definitely the play when it’s not 90 degrees

Depending on how early you can get there the Ramada Inn on Blue Ridge and the Vet school deck usually run around 20$ and are on the east side of stadium where visitors sit

Nothing is free and traffic is unavoidable - go early so it’s less intimidating. Most lots require pre-paid passes. I’d drive around some of the side streets to see if there are private cash lots - they won’t be cheap.
