You ran to help when my wife fell
After a long day at the convention we were walking back to the parking garage. The sidewalk was uneven and she tripped while we were at the corner of 9th and 42nd.
You ran forward and immediately offered first aid and any type of assistance. I wanted to thank you. We talked about how nice you were on the ride home.

NYC people are very nice! We may not seem like it, but we care about each other. The amount of times I’ve also fallen and like 10 people rush to help me, soo many times

We can be kind - but not always nice. We will help and then go about our way instead of sticking around for small talk and smiles and all that.
I grew up here and I prefer this over the fake niceness you see in other places, where they’re not really kind

I’m from Seattle but have lived here 21 years. TOTALLY love and believe the kind/nice thing. My family back home didn’t love it so much! 😂

100%. I am originally from Idaho and moved to the East about 11 years ago. People from home were always telling me they could never live here because everyone was so mean. I told them the people from Idaho are nice but not kind and people from the East are kind but not nice.
For example you could be going through the worst thing ever in your life in Idaho and even the people closest to you would say they would pray for you then talk about how you deserve it behind your back. Here in the East it can be something as simple as you are not wearing your coat on a cold day and some random is chewing you out about being an idiot while taking the coat off their own back to give to you. I have never been so taken care of while told off in my entire life and I love every second of it.
