Note: these are on Apple not Netflix. Not sure if you’re only looking for Netflix recs?

5

u/OkBarber7170 4d ago

Yep, I’m looking for Netflix recs specifically. But I don’t mind the Apple TV suggestions either, so all good!

This last season of Silo was awful. They gave the main character amnesia lol

Loved the books couldn’t stand the show - didn’t get to season 2

Widows Bay starts strong, really strong, but the second half of episodes is a discombobulated mess. Still, overall excellent acting and a few truly unique characters. Imo, it doesn’t hold up. I am frustrated at how they let such a good start turn into a train wreck of bad plot.

I just don't get the love for Widows Bay, it's just stupid to me. The sea hag thing was kinda the tipping point. I go back and try to watch when there's literally nothing else to watch. Loved Silo though, and didn't think I would.

The Diplomat Season 4 on Netflix is soon to be released. I’d watch S1-S3 if you haven’t yet.

3

u/OkBarber7170 6d ago

Will definitely check this one out. Thanks!

Could not say The Diplomat specifically but if you like tension and everyone backstabbing each other that one is real good year before last

3

u/Ocanannain 6d ago

Agreed. I believe The Diplomat is the best thing on Netflix right now. And season FOUR is dropping this month.

9

u/Ocanannain 6d ago

Season 3 of The Diplomat was excellent.

I thought I was going to hate The Diplomat. I had tried it once before and thought for sure it was not for me. After The Americans, (which also took me a couple of tries and now one of my favorite shows) I decided to try again and completely fell in love with it.

Super excited for the new season but going to wait until I can watch more than one episode at once.

I re-watched season 3 in anticipation of season 4, and was sure that I had sseen it before, but the last episode still made me cry

I’m starting over and can’t wait!

1

u/Real_Foundation_7428 5d ago

I don’t remember the end! Which is great. I need to rewatch too.

1

u/OkBarber7170 6d ago

Have not watched this one yet. Thanks for recommending!

2

u/Ocanannain 6d ago

And Season 4 is dropping this month, so you've got 2 seasons ahead of you to enjoy.

2

u/False_Safe_878 5d ago

Perfect timing! The show has three seasons out (you don’t need to have watched them all before to get into the new season that’s just about to finally be released - but I think you’ll be sucked in and watch them for the enjoyment enjoyment

East of Eden is really good.

I read the book, when I watched this version, it seemed different than I remember. Was I thinking of a different book or was it different?

1

u/MathematicianDry5294 2d ago

The show did miss a lot of the essence of the book, but it is still very good overall.

u/OkBarber7170 6d ago

Heard a lot about this one. Will check this out too! Thanks!

I’m watching The Perfect Lie on Netflix. It’s been really good. It’s a Dutch production.

Widows Bay, Carrie, East of Eden

1

u/MachoMom 2d ago

I cannot stress how wonderful East Of Eden is. I love the book dearly and this is a loving, rich adaptation.

1

u/ExistentialAngsty 1d ago

Just binged Carrie and loved it.. also the Italian period piece ‘The Leopard’ is gorgeously shot

(prime and Netflix, respectively)

‘Disclaimer’ on AppleTV. Excellent and unique mystery. Strong acting. Well written. Might be a bit slow for some. I was taken by the unique way they advanced the plot thru character narration. Hadn’t seen that done before.

16

u/soulonfire 6d ago

This comment desperately needs some punctuation

-32

u/ISnatchWigz 6d ago

How about "fuck yourself ".

11

u/Real_Foundation_7428 6d ago

Quick grammar tip: The period goes inside the quotation mark. TBF, they only asked for punctuation, and you did provide it.

3

u/atcaw94 4d ago

🤣

-3

u/ISnatchWigz 5d ago

Lol

0

u/ISnatchWigz 5d ago

Sarcasm doesn't translate to grammar Nazis .

-1

u/ISnatchWigz 5d ago

Fuck note the time ...Yes I'm sorry I didn't answer in the form of a question but I couldn't resist. DO you jerk off to looked on phonics ?

4

u/ptatersptate 6d ago

And with punctuation, we understood that.

1

u/atcaw94 4d ago

Tires is hilarious unless you're a liberal whiner that hates Shane Gillis, lol.

0

u/Naamch3 1d ago

Shane Gillis is the funniest and most relevant comedian out there right now!
