is there a way to export playlists from newpipe to any other app, newpipe is too buggy and I cant use the same playlists on desktop without remaking them entirely

This has been going on since I know the app years back. Just for no discernible reason, it will play some video and then it crashes, and it JUST REFUSES TO PLAY IT BEYOND that point.

I have not noticed any pattern with these videos, just nothing, they have nothing in common, not the release date, length, quality...

I enjoy using new pipe but I only use it for music in the background without ads because EVERYTHING has to force feed you ass nowadays and I'm scrolling through this subreddit realizing that most people use this app for videos which is good too but I'm happy watching an ad if it means I keep my YouTube subs but listening to ads drives me up a wall when I'm trying to focus on other stuff, and now it can barely get through a song without telling me "an error has occured see notification for details" and ik my network and Wi-Fi are fine which I can't tell if it's worse than having ads or not atp tbh

TLDR: is there a solely music Oriented version or alternative? And is the failing to play going to be universal due to Google and corps?

I've cleared the cache countless times although I haven't tried to delete and reinstall because there could be a better option for my tasks at hand. If that's my solution I can do that too ig

Most video titles are translated to English (even though that is not my app language - but anyways, I don't want it translated to any language, not even my app language). I tried every language setting, and it doesn't stop; only if I click on the video, the original title appears and then stays for a while (e.g. in my playlist). Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does anyone else have the problem where a video stops playing/buffering when your phone switches from mobile data to wlan or vice versa while watching it?

With regular videos, i have to open another video first and then go back to the original one to get it to play again.

With shorts, i have to completely close PipePipe and reopen it to continue watching.

Does anyone happen to know a fix for this?

Does anybody else experience audioissues? All the pauses in speaking in videos get sciped in Newpipe but it sounds right when I open the video in the browser. Also some words sound weird, does anybody know what is happening?

I've recently tried this app, and I'm really impressed with it. It meets my needs very well.

I have a question about NewPipe. I use it to listen to music in the background, and I was wondering if there's a way to automatically set the video quality to the lowest available resolution (144p) whenever I tap "Play in background", so that it uses as little mobile data as possible. I mainly use this feature just to listen to music, so I don't need high video quality.

Sometimes, I watch videos directly in NewPipe at 1080p60 for a sharper and clearer picture. However, when I switch to background playback, I occasionally forget to change the resolution back to 144p. As a result, I end up wasting a lot of mobile data every day. Sometimes, my connection also becomes unstable because NewPipe continues loading the video at 1080p60 based on my previous quality setting.

So, I'd like to know if there's a way to configure NewPipe to handle these two situations automatically, without having to change the quality manually every time:

• Watching videos in NewPipe: Always use 1080p60.
• Playing videos in the background: Automatically switch to 144p.

Is this possible, perhaps through a setting or another workaround?

edit: using a free VPN like Proton VPN restores access, but obviously not ideal

I would suggest using a combination of MSEdge browser + AdGuard on Android from now on, it has been good about allowing background play. But sucks that option doesn't have PIP like NewPipe does, sigh...

Since September, NewPipe and PipePipe have been having an issue where they'll play a video for a bit and then abruptly stop and crash with the HTTP error notification. I've tried everything I could Such as switching off/on my VPN, restarting the router, restarting my phone, restarting the app, closing and reopening the app, etc. And still nothing worked, I switched to PipePipe for about a week and it had the HTTP issue but not nearly as severe as NewPipe. It was until a couple of days ago where I couldn't even watch a single video on either PipePipe or NewPipe without the error.

Does anyone know how to increase the history limit in both search and watched history, it is somehow limited for me

Why am I still getting the popup about the September 2026 deadline and how NewPipe will no longer work on certified Android devices after that? It's about midway through October now and I've seen no difference.

Title is self explanatory, many playlists , notably Calculus 2 3 lectures by prof leo and many others similar just do not show up if we search . I have confirmed that they are on YouTube but just not here. Currently on Latest f-droid release

Since a week or so i keep getting HTTP errors 403 on newpipe. A song plays, stops and it gives the error. This had never happened to me, and now it keeps happening. Are you also having this issue? And does someone have a solution?

Ive looked through the settings and googled but thetes no fit to screen or stretch to fit screen video player options right? Or have i overlooked them oled screens are just terrible and have enough issues so i dont care cutting some of the video to prevent some of them like burnin and pixel degration of the organic material in them giving me bars by watching yt so would love to see if theres a way since external player doesnt have any audio and from what i can tell theres also no fix for that

Switched to a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS installed from a Samsung Galaxy a while back. So far I'm enjoying it, but for some reason I get the "youtube refused to provide data" error which is sucks. I think its because I'm running a VPN on my device, but I didn't get this error when running newpipe on my galaxy, even with a VPN, at least occasionally. Any tips on what I could to fix this?

I wish y'all would add a way to add a Channel to my "Block List" directly from the Current video I'm watching or from the Channels Page. "YouTube"

I have auto play next video ​on and often some ​AI video will auto play next or I'll be halfway through a video and realize I never want to see something make by this Channel/Person again.

As it is now its a bit of a Hassel to remember channels name, go to settings, then add to Block List. I end up not doing it often. So makeing it ​easy to do would be awesome. Over time I could really Dial In what videos I'm seeing.

I'm useing PipePipe. But posted here as they don't have a Reddit​. I feel y'all share a lot of features anyway and If y'all add it they probably will​? So this is my Feature Request.

My app keeps showing guru mediation error messages i believe it's the HTTP one or 303 or something. Is it because Google's android lockdown is in effect now? Or an issue from Newpipes side?

I'd really like for the app to start recommending me stuff I'm interested in and not generic stuff and for a block button for stuff I really don't like getting interrupted by. Because sometimes I use the app to listen to Reddit stories then it switches to politics. I hate politics. Then when I'm listening to a song it skips over to "How many verities can I run from in a roblox obby." I hate roblox and I hate those types of jokes. To each his own, 5 each his own hood but I'm not that type of guy. Anyway thats basically the only thing that really bothers me aside from the interruptions and the non-loading sometimes

I reseted my android back to his original settings, used the save from my samsung account ( that saves some stuff, playstore apps but no external apps), and when i do install newpipe back i even got my playlist, how is that possible??? I even lost stuff that i was supposed to keep with my samsung account, but newpipe got it all like nothing happend

DeArrow is by the SponsorBlock author. Same crowdsourced model, but for titles and thumbnails instead of sponsor segments.

PipePipe had the request open since May 2025. The maintainer's stated objection was that reloading titles and thumbnails is hard to do seamlessly on Android, which is fair, so that is what the implementation is built around: never blank a view, never block a bind, never leave a row worse than it started. Off by default.

For videos nobody has submitted a thumbnail for, it uses a real frame. YouTube already stores three extracted frames per upload and serves them as ordinary images, so that costs one 7 KB fetch, no extractor call. Decoding the video for a frame is a separate setting, also off, because that one genuinely costs a player request per row.
