School Advice What exactly does “diagnostics” mean on a pt evaluation?

Post image

When I took my EMT pt evaluation a few years back, I don’t remember this being on the NREMT skill sheets. What does it mean exactly?

Anything that measures a discrete value is a diagnostic. BP, BGL, etc

It literally says on the page, in my experience diagnostics is usually a 3 or 4 lead, blood pressure cuff, and Pulse oximeter

Vitals, 12 lead, things that help you determine how to treat a pt

There isn’t really much to discuss lol. It’s just a definitional thing.
