Went to the NieR Orchestra concert at Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf today. The music was amazing, but the seating was absolutely terrible.
A huge speaker blocked most of the screen and stage. Since the concert includes story text and Japanese dialogue on screen, we basically missed a huge part of the experience.
And the worst part? These weren’t even cheapest seats.
Honestly, I couldn’t enjoy the event at all because of this. Instead of getting immersed in the music and atmosphere, I was constantly reminded of how much I was missing.
It’s incredibly disappointing to pay a decent amount for a ticket and end up with such a restricted view.
Amazing music, but the overall experience was completely ruined for me.
Update:
I contacted EVENTIM about the severely obstructed view and received a response from their customer support.
According to EVENTIM, the event organizer is solely responsible for the seating arrangements, seating plans, ticket price categories, and stage positioning. They also stated that they are not informed in advance about potential view obstructions.
They advised me to contact Overlook Events SAS directly, as they are the organizer responsible for the concert.
As a small gesture of goodwill, EVENTIM offered me a €5 voucher for my next purchase, valid for one year.
While I appreciate the gesture, it feels rather disappointing considering how much the obstructed view affected the experience, especially since we couldn’t properly follow important parts of the story.
I’ve now contacted Overlook Events directly and requested a partial refund, as there was no warning about the restricted view when purchasing the tickets.
I’m currently waiting for their response and will update this post once I hear back.
Hopefully, this can be resolved fairly, especially if other attendees experienced similar issues.
