Discussion the Pretty Reckless song with Pat and Dave (more known for Soundgarden collaborations but this time Nirvana/Foo fighters collaboration).

She toured with ACDC, performed with soundgarden and now work with nirvana/foo fighters members, she's just living her best life

I've been listening to a playlist that is Bikini Kill's 2026 setlist + "The Top 30" Nirvana songs and a playlist that is the best examples of Steve Albini's engineering (Jesus Lizard, PJ Harvey, Pixies, In Utero, Superchunk, etc) and I think that has cooked my brain because when I listen to music like this now, it just sounds so overproduced. It's not bad, it just feels a little soulless to me. I think that's part of why Nirvana feels so vibrant in comparison - every recording is like a unique work of art and modern production sounds like it was 3D printed from a CAD rendering.

I mean, Nevermind was made to be played on the radio and sound like a mainstream album.

Sorry, but this sounds as generic and forgettable as most foo fighters songs.

There’s rumors that Soundgarden is going to tour with her next year. She’s been sounding really good live them with them recently, I wouldn’t be opposed to going, even if it’s not really Soundgarden. Mike McCready might join them as well.

What fascinates me most, as someone who's done his bit of recording over the years too: You've got this wall of distortion, and at times, she's not even singing, rather speaking, and yet you can hear every single nuance of her voice. No mishmash in high-end production anymore, everything's crystal-clear-clean and separated from each other.
