When the box is at rest (“up”) the nub on the plastic bit is blocking the toothpick from rolling fully into the slot. When he presses the box down, the toothpick is allowed to roll into the slot. As the box pops back up, the nub catches the pointy end of the toothpick, flipping the other end up and capturing the pointy end between the side of the nub and the end of the slot the plastic bit passes through.

This guy is great.
He makes a lot of cool stuff and uses basic tools.
He’ll even make something in a few different ways if someone is having trouble, or to show it can be done with different tools if you don’t have those ones.

Yeah gotta love it. Another channel called Barnso does the same thing on youtube. He will use hand drills and very basic tools to just make simple stuff. I think we need more stuff like this nowadays

It’s nice to see.
Because the other side of that spectrum is guys with walls of Festool lining their warehouse sized workshops, filled with factory machinery.
But the guys with that equipment, don’t need to be watching YouTube videos on how to do this stuff.

I like that he uses the magnets to repel the contraption upwards. Not to shabby

I love products that use strong magnets. There is something so reliable, tactile, clean and precise about them.

Makes me wonder about magnets sometimes, like, how do they work?

Anytime TWC shows up in my YT shorts feed it's an automatic upvote.

LOL I came to say this was "old school 3D printing"

LOL so I was watching with captions still turned on, and at the 1:49 second marker it says "I'm going to add a little bit of salt and a little bit of salt and a little" one second before the video ends.
