IIRC he just provided the voice, I believe all the monster action was filmed back in Japan along with the rangers in action.

This is 100% the case. Bryan Cranston did not dress up in this costume lol.

Ok but the red ranger went on to murder a couple on a boat in a scheme to rob them that went anchors away sideways.

No it's not the case you are referring to is a kid actor who appeared as uncredited extra named Skylar Deleon which has nothing to with Austin St John

Yeah, this kid. He was never the Red ranger

Although it is funny to imagine Cranston in this costume. This was also not that long away from his appearances on Seinfeld, one of his first truly prominent roles.

Yes that is the case. The show was just compiled Japanese footage with bad dubbing and a few new segments shot, but Bryan Cranston voiced two characters (Snizzard and Twin Man). He went on to play Zordon in the 2017 reboot.

Not just Power Rangers, but also other voice roles for Saban and the other anime companies back in the 90s. It should be noted that these early voice roles were non-union, which meant he had to use pseudonyms. So there might be more out there that haven't been listed.

A lot of the power rangers actors left the show because it was non-union and where getting paid like a few hundred dollars per episode and weren’t even allowed to have managers or lawyers read the contracts. Really scummy practices.

also Bryan Cranston from Power Rangers (2017), where he voiced Zordon (the floating computer head mentor to the 5 teens with attitude)

He was doing a bit of voice acting at the time, he was in the Street Fighter II movie and the Armitage III movie that cut a couple of OVAs together (also in that: Keifer Sutherland and Elizabeth Berkeley)

I like that you mentioned Drive in his credits. Great movie.

Is this what inspired his role in Godzilla?

Or his role in the Power Rangers movie. What an upgrade.

Rangers, we need to cook!

I don't have many PR action figures, but I had to get this one. It's a snake dude with snakes for his limps using a bow that's wrapped around a snake to shoot snake arrows. Peak design

I had a toy of that monster.

Fun fact: Original Blue Ranger Billy Cranston (Played by David Yost) was named after Bryan as a tribute to all the characters he voiced on the show
