Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦 Why is Trump always doing such things

Guys guys, he has the CONCEPT of a ceasefire
119
u/Chinese_Lover89 Bring back Fort Zeelandia 6d ago
Isn’t he just always working with the “concepts of a plan”. Just like he did when he started the Iran war? “Trust me guys this time my concept will really work, will be over in like 3 days”
54
u/BusinessDuck132 6d ago
Hey come on now it’s not a war, it’s a CONCEPT of a special military operation. What about this are you not getting cmon

u/GripAficionado 6d ago
War? It's totally not a war, trust me bro, I don't need congressional approval. And on that note it's totally already over and we have already won. And bro, it's totally not the war in Iran that has caused high gasoline and diesel prices, it's totally Ukraine's fault.

Nope.

I honestly don’t know why he keeps doing this
85
u/DJ3nsign 6d ago
Because he's both a greedy fuck who is trying to milk any and all money he can in any situation, but also because he's a fucking dumbass who thinks hes the smartest person in the world.
The saying in finance for people like him are "always wrong, never in doubt."
28
u/austhrowaway91919 6d ago
Dumbass? Wow, check yourself. We're talking about a man who said a week ago: "I know more about inflation, I know more about everything than anybody in this room. Anybody anywhere in the world." [1]

Because it plays well to his base, everyone else immediately knows it’s BS.
47
u/Chewbacca_The_Wookie 6d ago
Because he's manipulating the markets. He always does these bullshit announcements for Iran on Sunday before the markets open and every time they declare we're gonna bomb the fuck out of Iran if they don't listen it's just before the markets close for the week.
15
u/Blue_Rook 6d ago
Serious investors with half of brain cannot be that stupid to fall n-time into the same lie and even then the russian oil that he promised would sufffice for like half a day per month in US so it is neglegible. It is more likely related to his malignant narcissism and desire to control other people.

u/FlthyCasualSoldier profiles are not meant to be customized 5d ago
This does not matter. The markets still react. The press still writes articles. That is the art of the deal and it just works.

He clearly deserves that Nobel Peace prize for solving the Russo-Ukrainian war for the tenth time. Too bad those damn Russians and Ukrainians won't listen to him so he'll have to solve it a ninth time next week.

I think this man has just compulsion to lie. Not even for some hypothetical evil benefit, just because he is built fucking wrong
27
u/_xoviox_ Actual Ukrainian conscript 6d ago
The benefit is clear - shift the blame. It's crucialy important for him that Ukraine does not accept, because if we do, there's only one possible reason remaining why the gas prices are so high. But if the terms are so garbage that we obviously won't, he can keep saying that it's all because of damn Zelensky hitting damn refineries despite trump asking really really really hard
3
u/DarwinOGF Our russophobia is still insufficient. 5d ago
That level of planning would require more than a single braincell Trump has
6
u/gary-vault108 5d ago
On one hand, yes it’s mostly about self enrichment and filling his pockets, but on the other hand, this is the most weird fucking person I have ever seen. He’s clinically insane AND he’s medically stupid AND he’s now got dementia on top. I have never seen anyone’s brain work the way this man’s brain works, I literally cannot fathom how his brain goes from point A to point B.
4
u/anotveryseriousman 6d ago
is it a lie if worms have eaten your brain and you no longer have a sense of either your own existence or the possibility that a reality grounded in physics exists outside of your own experience and you're basically just making sounds based on the worms randomly tugging on various parts of your amygdala
8
u/Karnewarrior 6d ago
It's the other bloke who's brain got eaten by worms, Trump just fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.

u/Karnewarrior 6d ago
Trump is extremely stupid, and used to being the boss. It's my firm belief that he heard "Leader of the Free World" and understood it to be "CEO of Everyone". Thus, he runs for President, wins, and now thinks he can boss around everyone else.
Of course, it doesn't work that way. The President of the USA lacks the control of a CEO even within the US itself, much less in other countries such as France and Iran. However, since Trump is a dumbass, his reaction to that is to go "No, nuh-uh, no way". He also buys full hog into the propaganda about how awesome the US is, so he thinks he can enforce his will against 'rebellious' countries with the military. Except, oops, turns out the US can't actually solo the entire planet, and logistics and war support are things, so Trump fumbles that too.
That's likely one of many holds Putin has over Trump. Trump is a moron. Putin's just evil. So Putin has been feeding Trump lies, tag-teaming the blackmail shit we all know about with fake suck-ups about how Trump is so definitely the guy in charge, but could he please do this or that. The Trump does it, because he's happy about being fellated and too dumb to realize he's being manipulated.
Except recently Putin must've pushed too hard, because it seems like Trump has broken the chain, and is now completely feral. He still seems to like Putin on some level, but he's bought fully into the fantasy that he's the big dog in their relationship, and Putin can't make it more clear without both losing his grip on Trump entirely and also expending resources on doing so that he doesn't have (Ukraine blew the supplies up). So now Trump's running around with his ego complex in a position of great authority and responsibility, with no handler and a single brain cell bouncing around the inside of his head like the DVD logo. Trump only has a good idea when it hits the corner directly.
That read is based on basically nothing, but that's what I think is happening, and why Trump is so insistent he can work out a Cease Fire without either of the actually warring parties being interested in one.

inside of his head like the DVD logo
Perfect picture! Just like the DVD his "ideas" are from 25-30 years ago. And while the world has turned and Blu-ray has been the standard for at least two decades now, he and his lackeys are clinging on a world that once was.
In German we say "Früher war alles besser" - everything was better in the past. And happily ignore everything that wasn't. He's the ultimate leader of this thought. Combined with the narcisim you described it's the result we have now. sigh

u/cbtenjoyer228420 5d ago

I’m starting to think that maybe announcing two sides had a ceasefire without telling them doesn’t work. Hmm, maybe try it a few dozen more times. It’s sure to work on the 86th time!

u/GripAficionado 6d ago
Essentially tells Ukraine to stop defending itself whereas Russia gets to continue its terror attacks. 10/10 diplomacy, a beacon of inspiration, providing confidence to its allies...

u/DeHub94 6d ago
What the fuck is happening? Why does (at least) one party to a ceasefire not now about it? What is he smoking?
54
u/SeptimusXT 6d ago
Both didn’t know about it until Trump said this, lol.
Ukraine at least made some comments, nobody from the Russian side even said anything (as of 1hr ago, maybe they did now)Ain’t the first time he did this either.

Ukraine as always tries to not piss off the fickle man, but it's tough. International diplomacy shouldn't be conducted on a whim through tweets (or whatever that platform calls them).

u/kefefs_v2 6d ago
You could say something similar about any billionaire and many millionaires. They already have more money than a regular person could ever reasonably spend. I think at some point it just becomes a sickness where you need to see the number keep going up even though it doesn't affect your life at all.

You don't become rich by being the kind of person who can look around and say "I think I have enough money"
4
u/Cultural_Blueberry70 5d ago
Dude is the most off-the-rails unconstrained narcissist on the planet, that is all you need to know. Like all narcissists, he thinks the whole world revolves around making him grander and happier, and he is at war with everyone who would ever say "no, you can't have that" to him. He's like a toddler.
So he doesn't need money, he needs his ego pampered. If there are people that are much richer than him, it diminishes his standing in some way, which put a damper on his ego, and he can't tolerate that. He needs to be at the top of every ranking. He is also fine with people lying about it, as long as they call him the best and greatest in public. (That's even better because making people lie to suck up to him demonstrates his power over those people, which pushes his ego even higher.) That's also why he craves the Nobel, he can't tolerate that he doesn't have it when others, like Obama got one.
