Slava Ukraini! πΊπ¦ I felt this comment thread deserved its own post
This was extremely high effort. Have you ever tried to freeform cut in MS Paint?

Now that you mention it, the current POTUS really is like "what if Michael Scott from The Office became president in real life".
Iβm fully aware the character is intentionally written as a satirical typecast of a low-level manager, but the reallife resemblance is just too uncanny to ignore.

If Russian refineries could talk: ceasefire, PLEASE! We will wear suits and say thank you!

You know, I would say that he did this because Putin asked him too and him being a kremlin bootlicker....
But this might just be him being an attention seeker.
As much as I hate him Putin isn't an idiot. And I really don't see how this helps advance his goals I any conceivable way. This is literally meaningless.

I think Putins plan is that he's going to tie Ukrainian refinery strikes to American diesel costs, by convincing trump the reason he can't export enough to meaningfully shift the needle os because of those strikes.
Trump, desperate to bring diesel down before the midterms, then tries to coerce Ukraine into a unilateral cessation of strikes so Russia still gets to bomb Ukrainian energy but Ukraine cant target Russian energy.
I don't think its going to work, but that's what I think the plan is.

I agree. I think it is also about gradually, but permanently, lifting sanctions on Russia. Putin needs cash, and he needs to be able to deal with western companies to replace destroyed refinery components, and even to maintain his oil infrastructure. There are also other areas where tech gets cannibalized faster and faster because they can't buy spare parts, like aviation.
I wonder which company actually bought the Russian diesel, and if the government has funded the deal? Follow the money.

One doesn't stay in power for as much as he did without having some smarts.
He is a despicable human but when it comes to staying in power her has maneuvers well.

Putin was smart about running a gangster state but sucks at running a real country or real military.
But he's been getting his ass kicked by a near peer opponent with enormous losses.
Putin may have had smarts, but he went old man crazy during COVID.

The messed up part is Ukraine did, for 3 days, hold off on striking Russian refineries.
During that time Russia continued to pound Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Clearly the main takeaway is Ukraine is being unreasonable.

I have! Drawing lines is also a PITA with a mouse. Finger on trackpad is better, but my trick, when I remember to use it, is to use a touchscreen stylus on my laptop's trackpad (no touchscreen).

Lol, I knew I wasn't the only one who thought about this scene from The Office after hearing trump's ramblings about cease fire.
I swear to god, I had this exact meme in my head yesterday. Thank you so much for making it real
