I thought some people might enjoy seeing part of the process behind Adventures in Gloomwood.

These images show the development of Desdra the Barbarian, one of the six pre-generated characters included in the adventure, from the first pixel-art draft in Pixel Studio to the final character sheet.

The whole project took about a year to complete, and everything in the module (art, maps, layout, and writing) was created without AI.

So my recent post about the animated lantern went great; the monster has been adjusted according to everyone's feedback, and should be very fun to play. Now help me design a more complicated monster perfect for the month of October!

The idea with this monster is that it is primarily a guardian for evil magic users, as well as local villages of a suspicious nature. The monster has low AC, and when attacked, burns you slightly while also inducing a magical effect (following a spell save). The only problem is, I need your help!

Following consultation elsewhere, I've been given great ideas on 1 of a potential 6 random magical effects, but I need 5 more.

Fanart for a writer friend of his OC Geoffrey. Im in a group of fantasy artists and writers and every fall we do OCtober where we draw eachothers characters. Here geoffrey, a winged adventurer in armor delves downard before facing off with a skele boi and a crocodood. How will he fair? The big dice doesnt look to promising... this was a real fun drawing. coming up with environment u can tell i used alot of cube shapes. But its definitley in some type of cave.

Drawing was done in pencil on paper. But i def plan on doing some more ink focused works soon. I like the grungy monochromatic aesthetics of OSE/R. Ill have to do some studies to draw less anime type character faces xD

Hey there! I have this plan to eventually run a campaign for a setting that is one of those "Fantasy World that had a bunch of Sci-Fi tech in the distant past". I was hoping to take u/Fr4gtastic 's Artificer Class, and make a few adjustments to change it into a sort of "Ancient Machine" class.

I have made notes of the tweaks that felt "right" for adjusting the class to be from a human class to a robot demihuman type, but I just want to run the changes by all of you, so I can get a sense of how much I should penalize the exp curve, if I need to.

Proposed Changes:
- Despite being a machine, water must still be consumed. You must consume water to regulate your internal temperature.
- Machines do not need food, but they do need fuel. They must satisfy their hunger needs by using Fuel Rods only. A Fuel Rod has the same cost and game statistics as an Iron Ration.
- Magical Healing will have only 1/2 the effect on a Machine.
- The Natural Healing of a Machine is doubled, however, for any given week, if more than 10HP is restored, the Machine must spend 10GP per 10HP restored, reflecting the need to purchase metal parts to repair their body.
- A Machine will have an Armor Class that is better by one, due to their metal bodies being resistant to physical blows.
- A Machine cannot contract a disease of the body such as a Flu, but may still contract diseases of the mind, or may become rusted by a Rust Monster.

Hey there. I'm a bit of an OSR rookie, thinking of running an OSE Game at some point in the semi-near future. I was looking online at some forums, and I saw in a few older posts the reccomendation that, inclusing Race as Class Classes, the Dungeon Master should ideally curate a list of 10-12 classes that are appropriate to the setting.

My question is, is that sentiment generally agreed upon here? How many classes should I arrage to be Player Options for a new OSE campaign? Any advice for deciding what classes to allow and what not to allow?
