Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone SproutVision v2 plant analysis quest 3 hud

SproutVision is an AR grow assistant I built for Quest 3 — it scans my microgreens trays with the headset cameras and gives a health report (coverage %, issues like legginess, harvest timing) using Gemini analysis. Just shipped: cinematic scan sequence, a verdict card designed for screenshots, voice readout of results, scan history with CSV export, before/after delta view, and a crop trial scorecard. I'm a former commercial head grower learning XR dev, so this is my two worlds colliding. Would love feedback on HUD readability in passthrough and whether the scan results feel genuinely useful or gimmicky

It's still a very early build of RDR1 on Standalone VR by Get_Rich, it's not very ready yet still buggy. If you want you can test it here

And yes I know that's not how you reload a colt, but this is how John does it in RDR1. In RDR2 it's more accurate

Discussion 3rd Person in VR

Why are there so man first person games in VR. I would really love to sit on the couch playing a 3rd person game like Witcher with a gamepad and just look around. Not acting like I’m the Person in the game.
Are there games like that?

Discussion Meta Quest link app red message issue

Post image

Recently, i noticed this when i was about to get on vr. then everytime i used it, it would freeze up during gameplay and when i disconnected it (via cable) it wouldn't reconnect at all. worst of all, when i tried to restart the app, the button would do nothing like it ignored the click! Has anyone got this error too or is it just me?
edit: i had rolled back my NVIDIA graphic driver to the version 591.86 until they fix it.

8 Factions of now, all with their own lore, behaviours, interactions, building kits, and enemies.

No 2 bases are the same they are procedurally built by each faction

Every Galaxy and every Planet is procedurally generated

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone My favorite game released yesterday

I just had to make it myself.

I’ve been working in VR since 2018, and I always wanted a Minecraft-like game that fully embraces the interactivity of VR.

I enjoy Bonelab, and I worked on Holoception, so I wanted to bring some of that physicality into a multiplayer survival game.

Back when Minecraft still had VR, the 1 m blocks always felt a bit uncomfortable to me, so I went for 10 cm blocks. Getting that to work with procedural generation, multiplayer and the performance limits of the Quest took me a long time.

I’m a 90s kid, so you’ll find a few references from my childhood in there too.

Yesterday I could finally release it on Quest in Early Access. A little sleep-deprived, but so happy I can finally share it.

One of the best things for me: my daughter now wants to see it every day. She loves looking around the world and getting fed apples and raspberries by me. (You can hear her in the trailer.)

I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it. Very open to feedback and suggestions.

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone Introducing Nightfall Meteor v0.8.1

Hi everyone, I'm excited to share the next evolution of my VR gamestream client Nightfall.

For those of you who do not recall, Nightfall is a VR first gamestream client developed primarily for the Quest 2/3/3s. What's special about it is that it does 2d-to-3d conversion on the headset, allowing you to watch 2d media and games in 3d.

Doing depthmap inference on the Quest is quite taxing on the hardware and it comes with a lot of limitations in order to get it to work at an exceptable level.

The obvious and easiest solution would be to move the processing to the host, however this means changing the code for Sunshine, Apollo, Vibepollo etc. etc. and every host under the sun. The amount of forks makes it difficult to really unlock the possibilities of what can be done.

So I have made Meteor - a small unintrusive app that you install next to your chosen gamestream host. It doesn't do anything too special right now, it acts as a proxy, takes the frames and create depthmaps out of them, on the fly. The Nightfall client automatically detects that Meteor is available and would use it for inference. This allows doing depthmaps at 120fps (or more...) and using much more powerful models.

At this time I have only added Video Depth Anything, as this is really fantastic for stability as well as image quality, but I will be investigating many more models.

This isn't too unsimilar to other host based realtime 3d services, but I think for flexibility and ease of use, I think it will be hard to beat.

This also opens the door to add more host based enhancements that would be extremely difficult to get matching changes into every host, so stay tuned.

This is a big update, and it's packed full of fixes and improvements. You can visit the release page for more info, but here is a summary.

  • USB link
  • Pyrowave codec
  • Custom trained EdgePad (ZipDepth) models with improved image stability and quality.
  • Microphone Passthrough (With Meteor)
  • 21 Language Translations
  • Improved hand tracking

Some caveats: - I honestly wouldn't use Pyrowave on the headset, since it's GPU intensive and takes away from Passthrough and AI 3d, but I can see a use for it by going the USB/Passthrough off/Meteor route, depending what you are doing with it. - Hand tracking is useable in order to get you into a stream/game, but I wouldn't really use it to try navigate a desktop.

Would really love people to try it out and give feedback, thanks for reading!

PS. If you are feeling extra spicy, keep an eye out for (buggy)pre-release versions. The current dev version introduces a BROWSER. This means you can use Nightfall without a computer, watch youtube with the 3d effect, or even play XBox Gamepass! It's functional, but still in development!

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone Can anyone identify this location on Mars?

Post image

I'm adding HUD location markers to a Mars update for my VR experience Solara One. This screenshot shows one of the locations you'll be able to discover from orbit.

Would you personally want:

  • Just the location name?
  • A short fact?
  • A deeper description about the mission/history?

Trying to find the sweet spot between immersion and learning.

Discussion External Blu-Ray player

Which external PC Blu-Ray player is recommended for ripping 4K UHD Blu-Ray movies and 3D Blu-Ray movies for use in the quest 3? I presume I need a special one who can Rip UHD content.
And which application is recommended ? I also need to be able to rip music CD’s in FLAC format for use on my Fiio M21 DAP.

Support - PCVR Suggestion Regarding a new pair of Earphones for Quest 2

I've been using ACAGET SFNS152 earbuds with my Quest 2 for years, but they're getting old and the volume has noticeably dropped. The bigger issue is that I can hear pretty much everything around me, from people talking and dogs barking to my brother snoring in the next bed.

I'd like to replace them with something that actually isolates outside noise better, but finding the right product is proving difficult.

I'm looking for traditional hard-plastic earbuds, similar to the ACAGET or Apple EarPods. I can't use the silicone or rubber tips that go inside the ear canal because they irritate my skin and become painful after a couple of hours. I also use a Kiwi Design Elite Strap, so regular headphones with a rigid headband aren't an option.

My budget is €15 to €20, and they must have a wired 3.5 mm jack. Bluetooth isn't suitable because the audio latency on my Quest 2 is too noticeable.

I don't expect complete silence, but I'd really like something that reduces outside noise by around 60% or more, if that's realistic with this type of earbud. Better sound quality and volume would be a plus, but isolation is the main reason I'm replacing my current pair.

Has anyone found something that actually works? I'd appreciate recommendations based on personal experience or reviews that properly test noise isolation, rather than just claiming the earbuds have it. Ideally, something available in Italy or through Amazon.it.

Discussion Why is Just Web Browsing, of All Apps, the Most Battery Draining?

Hi, VR friends, having tested VR events or actions from watching movies straight for hours to playing heavy 3D games straight for hours until the battery is at zero (the brightness at 67%), Wifi on, why is the simingly simple web browsing the most battery draining even with the brightness at the lowest and Bluetooth off.

Who knew the web browsing, be in Passthrough, fullscreen or not, or in the Home Environment (does not use Passthrough) be it in fullscreen or not as well, seems to drain the battery the most so much so that it will never be charged at 100% while it's plugged in, while you browse.

What could be explanation.

Thanks

God bless the VR Masterace.

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone I made a VR climbing game for Meta Quest 3 with terrifying heights, underwater scares, and multiplayer! $4.99

Hey everyone!

I've been working on my first VR game called KEEP HOLDING, and I wanted to share it with the community!

It's a VR climbing game where you get to experience some pretty crazy heights and environments. Right now, there are 3 different levels:

  • 🗼 The Tower – Climb your way up a massive tower. Definitely not for people afraid of heights lol.
  • *🏔️ The *Rock – A rock climbing experience inspired by Guatapé, Colombia.
  • 🌊 The Deep – An underwater cage ascent where you start deep in the ocean and slowly make your way to the surface. There's some creepy stuff down there too 👀

I also added multiplayer so you can climb with a friend, help each other out, or just mess around together 😂

It's currently $4.99 on the Meta Quest Store. I'm planning to keep improving it and adding more content based on feedback. Launch trailer below.

I'm a solo developer, so this has been a pretty fun learning experience. I'd genuinely love for some of you to try it out and hear what you think, even if it's criticism. I want to make the game better!

Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out:

https://www.meta.com/experiences/keep-holding/1328249903712449/

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate any support.

Edit: giving out (5) codes for the game to try out! Let me know if you want to try the game out, leave any review for me/feedback.

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone you can now fish in VR and still watch your actual TV

1.2k Upvotes

Hey, I work on Real VR Fishing for Quest.

Last holiday we threw in a mixed reality mode as kind of a test, not really expecting much. People ended up liking it a lot more than we thought, so we decided to make it a permanent feature.

While we were at it, we added room scanning. You scan your room and pick which parts become the fishing spot, and everything else stays as your real room. So you can leave your TV visible with the game on and fish in the rest of the space. Honestly that’s how a lot of us play anyway lol.

It’s in the base game, so if you’re on Horizon+ you can just jump in and try it.

Curious what you guys think, or what else you’d want to keep visible while fishing.
