Orange Cat 🅱️ehavior™ Amadeus behavior, taunting?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Whenever my other cat Wolfgang (inside the tunnel) plays a lot. My orange does this to the tunnel, but he never goes inside it ever. My elderly cat plays a lot on his own, the orange however rarely plays with any toys but loves to wrestle and chase.

Is Amadeus taunting Wolfgang to play or showing dominance? Wolfgang has been with me since a kitten and Amadeus too but there's a 2 year difference between them and Wolfgang is the owner of the house. Both neutered.

Is Amadeus just being weird? Sorry for bad lightning, I'm watching a scary TV show.

He's basically saying "this tunnel is mine" by spreading his smell on it

He's done this so many times, his scent would be there more if he went inside the tunnel 🤔

He only does it when Wolfgang has gone on a zooming trip or when Wolfgang gets more attention when we play fetch. I'm trying to teach Amadeus fetch but he doesn't get the point. Amadeus can't even play ball..

Literally Amadeus.

I fostered an orange kitten for a friend and he (the kitten, not the friend) learned to play fetch by his own. He still plays fetch with my friend. First and last cat I managed to play fetch with.

I'm glad he kept playing! It's fun when they know how to, it's so uncaty and fascinating imo.

I wish Amadeus would play more on his own or play with the toys.. Wolfgang knew fetch on his own too

Wolfgang just lays in it like "uhm ok.. Idk what you want" 😅

He is scenting it so the other cat smells him every time he passes that entrance. It's territory marking of a sort.

It makes sense yes. But I'm still at a loss as to why only when the other cat plays or just finished playing. And not otherwise when he's just laying inside it 🤔

refreshing the scent... for whatever reason.
