This Saturday Oct. 17th 📣
We will be hosting another distro and doing our best to support communitites that consistely live in survival mode, live in transition, need a meal, need resources...anyone really- without question.
We all have roles to fill and mutual aid is a practice ANYONE can participate in.
We are always collecting donations, looking for new volunteers and collaborations, and always looking to expand what we can offer to folx in need.
Every distro we serve around 170-200+ people and every donation we recieve goes right back into that offering.
On our amazon wishlist: We are running low on our hygiene kits and snacks, hydration packs, water bottles, camping equipment, and tbh everything on there is incredibly helpful and supportive.
Everything in red on our list is a consistently requested item.
Moving forward would love to be able to provide consistent access to harm reduction teaching and supplies, laundry services (possibly mobile) in areas where people survive instead of thrive, healthcare workers to help support the amazing street medicine team we practice with, people with haircutting skills, someone to help run our ID project, someone to help us connect with other groups and businesses that want to get involved.
If any of that resonates with you...We would love to speak with you!
Either way, we will be out this Saturday serving everything from food, cold water, sass, medical care, go bags goodies, clothes, shoes, a stocked pantry table, looks, community, hugs, and so much more...

I have something like a hoarding issue with these things, not like bugs and poop everywhere but I have a corner in my apartment with clean items from the title that I have left over from purchasing food for myself. e.g. the cutlery I got from restaurants and never used. Btw the glass jars are not the mason jars with the special lids, think like salsa jars.
Should I just try and recycle this all?
Thank you for responding. I'm embarrassed asking for help.

The Queer Girls' Pantry for Kids opened when neighbors could no longer watch young ones go without.
Six years ago Community on Wheels filled gaps that systems left behind. Now their doors are closed. Tucson Food Share cannot meet the demand alone and is running dangerously low on food and funds. Mutual aid organizations are seeing a decrease in any support especially queer led organizations.
SNAP enrollment across Arizona has dropped by half in the past year. Families who once relied on federal help stand at food lines with nowhere else to turn.
We operate from our home because waiting for permission to feed children means children go hungry in the meantime. Our living room holds more hearts than space allows.
If you have surplus food, your extra can become another meal tonight. If you know what it feels like to choose between groceries and bills, you understand why this matters. No child should learn that safety depends on their parents' bank account.
We remain open. We remain here. We need support to stay that way.

The Tucson Subreddit pulled my post. They said the info had to be vetted by a legit news organization.
Anyway, Rapid Response responded to this call on Friday. I'll link to the Instagram article, but here's the text in case you don't have IG.
Jesús, a deaf man, was traveling in a vehicle he owned with another deaf friend.
According to the family, both men were degally in the United States and the vehicle was properly documented.
They were stopped by police while traveling on public roads.
They complied with the stop.
THEY ARE DEAF.
COMMUNICATION WAS
A BARRIER.
Jesús lowered the windows and attempted to communicate with the officers.
According to the family, establishing effective communication was difficult throughout the encounter.
An accessible communication method was needed.
THE DOCUMENTS WERE THERE.
- Jesús presented his visa
- Driver's license was presented
- Vehicle documentation was presented
- The other man had immigration documentation
- According to the family, that documentation could be verified
His companion did not have his visa with him at the time.
The family reports that it had been left at the address where he was staying.
THE ENCOUNTER ENDED IN ARREST.
According to the family, instead of the situation being resolved through an accessible means of communication, both men were arrested.
They were ultimately transferred to immigration facilities in Nogales, Arizona.
JESÚS' VISA WAS WITHDRAWN.
The case remains ongoing and is being addressed with legal counsel in the United States.
DISABILITY SHOULD NEVER BECOME A BARRIER TO EXERCISING YOUR RIGHTS.
Deaf people have the right to understand what is happening to them, communicate with authorities, and have meaningful access to appropriate communication during police and immigration procedures.
We are not asking for anyone to be above the law.
We are asking that the law protect everyone's rights

This October 7th, the Tucson Anti-War Committee is protesting 3 years of Palestinian genocide fueled by U.S. aid to Israel, as well as the U.S. attacks against Iran and Lebanon, at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base @ 6:00pm. The event is so-far endorsed by the Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance, Common Defense, Vets for Peace, Nuclear Resister, Alliance for Global Justice, FRSO, PSL, CPUSA & Tempest.
Money for people's needs, not the U.S. war machine.
End U.S. aid to Israel - Palestine will be free.
