Well damn i guess it's time to suit up. I'm glad i got a jersey with my name on the back.
I got that jersey when they started trading all the players away and i though it could be forever until we have a player worth buying a jersey. Now we have like 5 or 6....lol!
Anyhow i'll be the starting point guard next game guys wish me luck!

TDS is a real gem, and I'm riding with Cole to the depths of Hell, no matter what.
GOGA GADGET WIN!

u/Dapper_Presentation8 Wendell Carter Jr. Dec 30 '24
I love Cole big time but the dude ALWAYS does something amazing to make up for doing a handful of awful. The other game he checked in and within 2 minutes he turned the ball over by just throwing it to a heat player and then ran on defense and fouled a 3pt shooter for 3 fts. He plays so erratic. His good is awesome but his bad is sometimes detrimental.
3
u/psiANID3 Franz Wagner Dec 30 '24
This will be an unpopular opinion rn, but he is the epitome of inconsistent. We need him right now, but he should not be in a normal rotation. He'll lose us more games than he'll win.
7
u/michiganer1981 Dec 30 '24
Gotta give a little shout out to Houstan too. That man stayed ready!

u/birdjay414 Dec 30 '24
Coach Moe will not win coach of the year, because well…we’re the magic. But I’ll be damned if he doesn’t get an honorable mention. Dudes coaching his ass off. Play that song!
5
u/Milla4Prez66 Paolo Banchero Dec 30 '24
Tbh most coaches that win coach of the year these days end up falling apart and lose their jobs shortly after. Maybe we don’t need that kind of bad mojo from this award.

So many impressive wins this season I literally lost count
32
u/SpideyUdaman Dec 30 '24
Pulling off the win from what could've been another off day is not just a show of resilience, but of antifragility. Old Magic wouldve lost this.
9
u/300_yard_drives Paolo Banchero Dec 30 '24
Old Magic get blown out by 25
1
u/SpideyUdaman Dec 30 '24
I wouldn't disrespect the ol' Magic like that lol. But I wouldn't rule that point differential out. That team was good when fully healthy. But this team is still decent even when handicapped.
2
u/Greglyo Franz Wagner Dec 30 '24
A great win but I'm just wondering if there's any updates with Franz Wagner or Paolo Banchero?
1
u/SpideyUdaman Dec 30 '24
PB could be ready anytime soon, just doing final game readiness tests now. Could be days, could be weeks, could be next game, idk. Like with PB, Franz will be out months but could be a little longer or shorter depending on his healing. Idk if his was more severe or not, but I heard it's at least 4 weeks if he got a mild case. I'm a little more bummed out about Moe because at least the latter two can finish out the season. Woulda been the best playoff hypeman and efficient sixth man.
1
u/Greglyo Franz Wagner Dec 30 '24
I'm feeling confident about them making the playoffs while healthy for the most part, what I'm weary about is the Magic making the playoffs as a low seed like 8th or 7th which would be a huge pain in the ass considering what Boston and Cleveland look like right now.
1
u/SpideyUdaman Dec 30 '24
We'll see. I personally think they'll be better than low seed even when Franz comes late. The bench better stay healthy too though.

12
u/PolloRanchero Paolo Banchero Dec 30 '24
He will really help that bench unit once Paolo and franz are back. With Moe out the rest of the season, he’s gotta be the bench scorer. That bench with AB, Gary, TDS, JI, and Wendell will be pretty solid.
7
u/duckduckgo2100 Paolo Banchero Dec 30 '24
We need to make sure he doesn't get hit with the sophomore slump that older rookies seem to get hit with. Jaime and Podz took a major step back this year.

24
u/CarlitoManson Franz Wagner Dec 29 '24
As shitty as all the injuries are, it showed us how Deep and good this team actually is. TDS drafted by any other team would get maybe 5 minutes and have a 2-1-1 average, before getting send to g-league and then to Europe.
15
u/M4C4K4NJ4 Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 29 '24
What?? No. I think he gets minutes on almost any team with how well he’s played. Maybe off the bench on a lot of the better teams, but he definitely belongs in the NBA 100% no doubt.
10
u/Shaunzki Franz Wagner Dec 29 '24
Nah he's too good for those options
3
u/CarlitoManson Franz Wagner Dec 30 '24
Of course he is, but I think in a lot of other teams he wouldnt get the chance….
28
u/KamikazeeDolphin Jalen Suggs Dec 29 '24
High key, this is the greatest roster in Magic history for me. Just the amount of grit this team has. My God, we are about it. Fully healthy, this roster can do what Shaq's and Dwight's teams didn't.
16
u/padrejohnmisery Dec 29 '24
As much as these injuries suck, they’ve given a lot of guys time to shine, and that’s gonna make this team even deeper AND tougher

-20
u/M4C4K4NJ4 Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 29 '24
People forgot Chuma Okeke, Cole, Wes Iwundu, Bamba, Melvin Frazier, and arguably Isaac (derailed by injury) too I guess.
TDS might be the latest pick he’s ever had for us that actually hit.
1
u/Icy_Target_3119 Dec 30 '24
Some of those guys weren’t even drafted by the guy you’re talking about
1
u/M4C4K4NJ4 Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 30 '24
He literally has been in charge for all of those draft picks. Do your homework.
He’s been here since 2017.
8
u/Badassatron00 Dec 30 '24
Paolo, Franz, and Jalen. He's hit on the most important picks. Everyone thought Jabari was going to be the #1 pick, maybe Chet. This guy has crushed the draft.
-8
u/M4C4K4NJ4 Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 30 '24
The Bamba and Isaac picks weren’t important?
I think a lot of people had Paolo as the #1 pick. Suggs was pretty much a consensus top 5 pick amongst literally every generic mock draft and ranking. I give him credit for Franz.
AB has not improved the way we thought he would this year. Jett can’t even get on the court. Bamba bust. Isaac not a bust but not what we wanted. Cole soon to be bust. Chuma bust. TDS solid.
His track record is suspect. People give him waaay too much credit just because of the Paolo pick.
And he’s yet to bring in an impactful player via free agency or trade. KCP and WCJ do not count.

Historically, we’re a horrible organization when it comes to recognizing talent in the draft. That goes beyond just Weltman.

You can't hit every pick, that's why you get multiples.
When you hit Paolo, Franz, and Suggs in consecutive years, you're allowed a few losses.

Cole Anthony +17 in the game + game winner. “I ain’t gonna lie that play was for Tristan. But he threw it out to far and started screening and I’m like I’m gonna take a layup” haters can stop calling him Greg figure out a name for Gary and KCP
7
u/SketchArtist Jalen Suggs Dec 30 '24
Goga on the past game show: "It [the play] was for Tristan. I was like 'Cole what are you doing?!' I didn't even know Cole was catching the ball. If I knew, I knew he was not gonna give it up. Every time he touches the ball it's an iso. Don't matter the clock. One man army. One against fifty. Don't matter how many they got. Cole Anthony will change the game, man!" 😂
3
u/geekeasyalex Jalen Suggs Dec 30 '24
Cole’s like an anime character that splits his time between getting his shit absolutely kicked in and being a one-man wrecking crew.
16
u/thewrongnotes Moritz Wagner Dec 29 '24
Cole is +17 because he didn't play in the first half when Nets were whooping us. He just happened to be in the game when TDS and Caleb caught fire.
3
u/whatdidubreak Dec 30 '24
Or maybe there is more correlation there than you think. I personally think Mose waited too long to give him minutes tonight. It was hard to understand. Had his two best games of the season, then had a mediocre game, then end of rotation again and only came in when the game was basically over against NY. Then not even given a chance tonight until Jalen went down.
In my opinion, in the situation we are in, you play Cole. You win or lose with him. The offense did not get going tonight until he was in. And I'm not saying it's all because of him. I'm just saying, and of course I could be wrong too, but I think there's more of a connection there than you seem to realize based off your comment.

u/pagedude10 Cole Anthony Dec 30 '24
As much as people don’t like it when it’s said, but Cole runs the floor, I don’t see anyone else trying to tell guys where to go or what plays to run when they’re in besides Suggs. When I saw them against OKC Anthony Black had looked clueless on what to do until Cole hopped on and started telling people where to be. It’s small things like that, that make Cole useful on this team. Yes he can get greedy with the ball I think that’s something he for sure needs to work on but he steps into the spots that coach Mose asks him to.
10
u/MVPaolo Dec 29 '24
You could tell that play was for Cole. Tds, Cole and Caleb were confirming the strat as they were walking back on the court. Tds was doing the arc motion to Cole then Caleb said something that made them laugh. I’d say it was how Tds was going to be the blocker, lol.

u/Magic_Fan69 Paolo Banchero Dec 29 '24
Dang this team does NOT give up. Respect to them in such an up and down game. Goga and Tristan are championship level role players. Just do so many things right and make so little mistakes. Respect Cole as well, otherwise bad game for him made up for with the game winner. Also respect Brooklyn (not Ben Simmons), they always fight hard and tbh we had the refs on our side the second half. If they had a challenge Tristan’s and-1 would’ve been a charge. Their head coach is a great guy and honestly feel bad for him here. ANYWAYS GOOOOO MAGIC!
9
u/aubreyw Franz Wagner Dec 29 '24
I agree that they missed the Tristan and-1 call, but we got multiple techs in the second half because of how much the refs were not on our side in the second half.

15
u/mondale_lewis Dec 29 '24
Play Cole Anthony ahead of Queen or Joseph; he has way more upside than both players.
5
u/WunWunFirstofHisName Doris Burke Dec 29 '24
I think that's true. It's hard with Cole though. He seems like such a momentum player and he needs to be able to work through his miscues to get to the shining moments. That's hard to do in 12 minutes a game, especially if you're slumping. Feels like a bad stretch can really snowball on him easily and hurt the hell out of his mental, plus we as fans give him zero rope lol
