General Discussion PCOS Officially Being Renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) in Major International Update

An international evidence-based initiative has announced that PCOS will gradually be renamed to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), following years of global research and consultation involving healthcare professionals, researchers, and women living with the condition. According to materials released by Monash University and the International PCOS Network, the change was made because the term “PCOS” was considered scientifically inaccurate and too narrow, as the condition affects much more than just the ovaries, including hormones, metabolism, mental health, skin, and reproductive health.

The renaming process reportedly included more than 22,000 survey responses and international workshops involving patient organizations and medical experts worldwide. Organizers say the old name contributed to misunderstanding, stigma, and delayed diagnosis, while the new terminology aims to better reflect the full-body nature of the condition. A 3-year global transition period is planned, with the updated terminology expected to be included in future international guidelines.

Rant/Venting I felt like I was mishandled by the sonologist during my transrectal ultrasound yesterday:((

Hello, everyone. Just wanna vent a little lang and idk if may naka experience na din ba nito.

For context, I had my TRUS yesterday due to prolonged menstrual bleeding. I arrived at the hospital a little early kasi gusto ko nalang talaga matapos yung procedure, But, the doctor was so late. Luckily, ako yung una sa pila. Upon entering palang, medyo masungit na si Dra., and wala man lang interview ng konti, she just straight up told me "tanggalin mo na underwear mo and higa ka na" Hindi pa ako tapos maghubad ng pants and underwear ko medyo minamadali na nila ako to lie down.

Noong nakahiga na ako, i was waiting for further instructions kasi it was my 1st time eh. May mga nabasa kasi ako na yung iba is pa-side yung higa nila while some is yung para kang manganganak na style. Then she told me, "bumukaka ka parang ganito" in an annoyed way. Nakabukaka siguro ako dun for about 3mins kasi inayos pa nya yung nakabuhol na probe. Nung start na yung procedure, she just told me "relax ka lang" which I really TRIED to but sobrang sakit nung pinasok nya. Alam nyo yung pain na parang gusto mo i-curl up yung legs mo, I was fighting so hard na hindi igalaw legs ko kasi sinasabi nya na "wag mong isara" and I was in pain pero I was constantly saying sorry kasi she was raising her voice at me na wag ko raw syang labanan.

I know mali din yung ginawa ko medyo gumagalaw yung legs ko but sobrang sakit nya. Like, something in me teared up. Aside from the "natatae" feeling, I also feel like may humihiwa sa part ko na yun. Noong nakapasok na yung probe, it was her secretary that told me na huminga nang malalim. But, at that moment, hindi ko alam how to do so kasi parang naka stuck nalang sa throat ko yung hininga ko because of pain. And the doctor just said na mag relax lang daw ako para matapos na.

After the procedure, she told me na nagdugo daw ako and ask me if I have hemorrhoids daw ba. I told her wala, and she didn't even bother to check my rectum. Until now, I still have pain and I can't even walk properly and sit properly kasi sobrang sakit nya when you put pressure on it. There's also moisture na narerelease sa akin because I think it's due to stress.

May mga nabasa ako na sa case daw nila, when they told their sonologist na masakit, usually ire-relax daw muna sila. Have a little talk, but yung sa akin wala. Parang nagmamadali pa nga that time si doctora. And in some cases, hindi na raw sila pinoproceed kapag sobrang sakit. But yung sakin, wala man lang ka gentle gentle. I even feel like I am sore all over my body and felt like I'm gonna have a fever pero wala naman.

General Discussion Anyone tried Ozempic?

Hi girlies,

i’ve been struggling for years now regarding my PCOS, but for these last 2 years hindi ko na maikakaila yung sobrang pagtaba ko. Nagcoconsult naman ako with OBs kaso after magtake ng meds magkakaron ako for few months then mawawala ulit.

now I tried consulting with endo since I got curious na with Tir and Ozempic, i did some labs and pre diabetic nako with fatty liver At may Vitamin D deficiency. my endo prescribed Ozempic and Metformin.

for my OB naman, himala na hindi nya ako agad pina pills, normally kasi Altea na agad sakin. ang piniscribe nya is Dydrotone for 5 days. Pero after that wala pa rin akong mens.

so ang pinaka question ko,

  1. ilang days ba dapat magkaron after taking Dydrotone.

  2. May nakapag try na po ba sa inyo ng Ozempic?

  3. Ano pa po masusuggest nyo for me na prediabetic with fatty liver na gusto na magkaregular mens at pumayat.

Thank you so much in advance.

Success Story I love my OB!

SKL because I really appreciate my current OB-GYN, and I think she'll remain my OB as long as I'm still here in the PH. Her name is Dr. Aline Ibasco-Coronado.

Super maalagain niya, very motherly yung tone niya kahit 29 y.o. na ako HAHAHA. She's also really hands-on with her patients, and you can feel na she genuinely cares about them.

She even volunteered to do my uterine polyp removal surgery instead of letting me go through the hassle of finding an unaccredited surgeon. Sobrang laking help niya sa akin during that time.

Last Saturday, she also gave me my first Depotrust injection after I opened up to her na medyo hindi ko na afford yung Slinda (₱875/month). She was understanding about my financial situation and helped me find a more affordable option na suitable for me. Depotrust is around ₱150 lang for 3 months compared to Slinda, so malaking bagay talaga siya for me. 🥹

We also talked about my plans to have kids in the future. I told her na I'm worried about my ability to carry a baby because of my PCOS/PMOS, and she recommended that I start planning and trying around 30-33 y.o., basta before 35. She also mentioned na she'll give me a list of exercises and medications to help prepare my body when the time comes.

I know iba-iba naman tayo ng experiences with OB-GYNs, pero I'm really grateful na I found someone who's not only knowledgeable but also understanding and maalaga. Hindi ko nararamdaman na jinujudge ako whenever I open up about my concerns, whether it's about my PCOS, finances, or future pregnancy.

So ayun, if you're living around Rizal or willing to travel to Rizal for your checkups, I highly recommend Dr. Aline Ibasco-Coronado! ❤️

Question Period stops for half a day with Diane 35

Hi! I have just recently started taking Diane 35 (first time taking pills) and my doctor said to take it on the first day of my period. Now, I bled on October 14 and I wasn't sure since it was just drops of blood on the pad so I took the pills on the next day. What I've observed is that everytime I take them, a few hours later my period just completely stops and then comes back the next day with cramps and quite heavy flow. I was actually surprised and got really confused by this 😭. I have yet to consult this with my doctor but I just wanted to know if anyone has also experienced this and what this means huhu thank you!

Meds/Supplement Spironolactone, Birth Control Pills, Isotretinoin? What is the best for Hormonal Acne and Insulin Management?

I’ve tried all aside from Spironolactone, but my hormonal acne keeps coming back after a few months. I don’t want a temporary, band-aid solution; at this point, I’m looking for a more long-term solution to keep my acne and insulin under control.
I already maintain a healthy lifestyle: I avoid processed sugars, go to the gym five times a week, walk 3x a week, and take supplements such as vitamin D3 and inositol powder. Despite these efforts, my hormonal acne returned after a year of having clear skin. I’d really like to have clear skin for the holidays, but more importantly, I want a treatment that offers long-term results with the lowest chance of my acne returning. I will have a follow-up check up with my OB this week.

Question HYDROSALPINX

Hello! Need advice po. 🥺❤️

Honestly, kinakabahan ako sa operation, and at the same time, gusto ko rin sanang subukan muna mag-conceive naturally since open naman ang right tube ko. Pero sabi ng OB ko, maaaring makaapekto sa chances ko of getting pregnant ang hydrosalpinx. May isa naman akong nakuhang opinion na puwede pa raw subukang mag-conceive naturally, pero may risks din.

For those who have experienced the same situation, or medical professionals who can share their insights:

Should I try conceiving naturally first, or should I proceed with the salpingectomy before trying?

I really want to make the best decision for my fertility and future pregnancy. Any advice or shared experiences would mean so much to me. Thank you! 🙏🏻❤️

Question Diagnosed with Insulin Resistance possibly type 2 Diabetes

Hello, everyone!

I just found out today from my lab results that I have high insulin resistance and my doctor said I might have type 2 diabetes, I have PCOS and TTC so my doctor requested this test to find out why I’m not ovulating.

Is there anyone with the same experience? What helped you? I’m considering of drinking Paragis tea (The one Alex G endorses) or if you drink some meds or something to help you get through?

Thank you! I’m kinda lost.
