How Do I... (Usage Question) Unable to Access PLAUD Devices After Changing Phone

I recently changed my phone and am now unable to log in to my PLAUD account.
All my PLAUD devices were previously connected to my old phone. I no longer have access to that phone, and none of my devices are showing up on my new phone.
As a result, I am currently unable to use any of my PLAUD devices.
Please assist me in restoring access to my account and reconnecting all my existing devices to my new phone, without losing any previously recorded data.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this as soon as possible.
Thank you.

How Do I... (Usage Question) Plaud on PC is constantly creating more speakers than the meeting has.

In every meeting I have had so far, with Plaud, it has split one or more speakers into multiple speakers.

So now not only do I have to label everyone, I have to do it multiple times for the same meeting.

Why???

Has anyone figured out a way to make this work correctly? The feed is coming straight from my PC so the signal couldn’t be any clearer.

Discussion Title: Speaker voice memory and auto naming are gone. Has anyone gotten a satisfactory answer from Plaud?

Plaud removed the voice memory that automatically named other speakers. The current support article on auto speaker labeling says Plaud only recognizes your own voice, and everyone else shows up as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on.

I relied on that feature. Now I rename speakers by hand in every transcript.

I've emailed support asking when it comes back, and for a partial refund if it doesn't. If another service offers speaker memory first, I'll switch. I'm also looking at running transcription on my own hardware so a vendor can't pull a feature I depend on.

If this hit you too, I'd like to know:

- Has Plaud given you a date or a reason?

- Has anyone received a refund or credit over it?

- Which alternatives remember and name speakers across recordings?

How Do I... (Usage Question) Recorded Audio in Phone

I tried to upload a recording. It was primarily done using my phone in a work reunion. I was supposed to send everyone the transcript for the meeting, and tried to upload the archive to Plaud app on the phone. Is a 1h30min meeting. The app is "thinking" for the last 5h.

Is that supposed to happen?

Discussion Anyone using Plaud for things other than work meetings?

I originally got my Plaud for work meetings, but lately I've been using it on my way home too.

Mostly just rambling about my day, things I need to do tomorrow, or whatever's on my mind. Basically journaling, except I'm too lazy to actually write anything lol.

I've also tried recording myself practicing presentations. Turns out I talk way faster than I thought. A little painful to listen back to haha.

I use different templates for those, depending on what I want to get out of the recording. Though sometimes I don't even bother reading the notes afterward. Just talking things through helps.

What else are you guys using yours for outside of work?

Some news we got to share today: NotePin S was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026, in the Consumer Electronics category.

TIME picks 300 products each year that it thinks are making the world “better, smarter, and even a bit more fun.” The full list goes live today, with a print issue following in January. Here’s the NotePin S entry: https://time.com/collection/best-inventions/2026/plaud-notepin-s/

A lot of you have been using NotePin since the early days, posting your setups, flagging what bugged you, and telling us what you wanted next. We read all of it, and it’s a big part of how we got here. So thank you.

If you’re carrying a NotePin S, we’d like to hear where it actually lives in your day. Meetings, lectures, walks, kitchen-table voice memos, whatever. Those are the comments we read most closely!

Discussion When is this new updated Plaud Intelligence capability being released?

I see vague references to October and something about getting free credits on Oct 13th. But I can't find a release date. It also talks about new calendar connectors. I've never gotten the Google Calendar connector to work in the iOS app, so I'd love to try these new integrations.

Discussion A few thoughts after upgrading to the Plaud Note Pro

Post image
32 Upvotes

I've been using Plaud for a few years and recently upgraded to the Note Pro.

I work in maintenance and management, so my days are usually full of contractor calls, equipment issues, meetings, and random things that need following up.

What I like most is being able to check what was actually said. Like whether a contractor agreed to send a quote or order a replacement part. Small details, but easy to mix up when you're dealing with 10 different things at once.

The summaries help too, although I still go back to the transcript when I need to double check something.

My main complaint is still the subscription cost. Paying for the device and then paying more to use the AI features isn't ideal.

But yeah, I use it enough at work that I don't really see myself going back to taking everything down manually.

Discussion How do you find sth from a Plaud recording you made weeks ago?

My Plaud recordings were getting a bit messy, especially when I needed to find something from a client call weeks later.

I used to just leave the default titles and then spend forever figuring out which recording had the info I needed lol.

Now I try to rename each recording right after the call, usually client name + topic. Important tasks go straight into my to-do list so I don't have to dig through old notes later.

And with Plaud MCP now available, I've also started using Claude to help look through older meeting notes when I can't remember where something was mentioned. Saves me from opening a bunch of recordings one by one.

Still figuring out the best way to organize everything though. Anyone have a better system?

Help / Troubleshooting increasing issues re: recording

hello all,

I have noticed that I am having increasingly more issues with my Plaud Note Pro. Today, because of these problems, I ensured that I clicked the button to start and stop recording. However, I am missing that recording. This is the third recording in two weeks that has been "lost." I have recorded over 200 meetings since July and haven't lost one until last week.

Is anyone else noticing an increase in issues? Before they took away the speakers, I was having more issues with Claude recognizing different speakers, and I am receiving worse outputs with my transcripts and summaries as well. The device has never been dropped, and meetings that were fine 2-3 months ago are now not getting transcribed correctly.

Anyone experiencing anything similar? TIA!

Discussion Best device for capturing discussions and transcriptions

Greetings All!

I am in search of advice as to which AI WEARABLE audio recording/note taking might work best for me, be that the Plaud NotePin, NotePin S, or something from a different company.

My primary use case would be in an office setting, where discreetly capturing the audio from a discussion, a training session, etc. would allow me to later review the audio capture/text transcription so that I can remember exactly what was said, by whom and would then allow me to take appropriate action and/or follow-up from each discussion.

I have the Plaud note device that magnetically attaches to the back of my phone, but I am looking for something that is even less obtrusive and more discreet. I have tried to compare the differences between the NotePin and the NotePin S, but I have to admit I am having difficulty in understanding exactly what those differences are and how each would work best for me.

I would much prefer more of an open-source solution that did not require an ongoing subscription, but I am not opposed to paying for AI features, transcriptions, etc.

Sometimes, my interactions with others are very ad-hoc and spontaneous in nature, so I would not be opposed to more of a "daily capture" device that just operates in the background continuously, but I also do not know what the implications would be for battery life and recording capacity, etc.

I would be particularly interested in which device you use, how you use it specifically, and your thoughts on these Plaud devices, plus any other competitive solutions from others in this space.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to learning what others are doing/using here...

Feature Ideas Auto stop recording on device after x time interval?

This seems to be reported heavily around here, but the device needs to have some kind of feature that automatically stops recording after either detected silence or a set time interval, like an hour.

I’m constantly recording all day with dead air by accident due to forgetting to stopping the device, which kills the battery.

Also, it’s hard to use the device while it’s plugged in because it’s probably the worst charging configuration I’ve seen in a long time. You can breathe on the cord and it will come off the “magnetic” attachment.

Help / Troubleshooting Lost Note Pin S and Note Pro

hi, I have 4 PLAUD devices (I love PLAUD)! two cards pro and two of the note pin S, I’ve lost one of each, one is on Find My and I’ve still had no luck, as far as I’m aware both models cannot ping? I’ve used third-party apps to search via Bluetooth for them and when it’s gone from cold warm to hot I still cannot find it at “hot”. Can anybody give me some tips or tricks to find these one has charged still and one does not. i’ve contacted Support but they advise they can only help me in way of getting in touch with me if somebody finds it and reports it. 🙏

How Do I... (Usage Question) Can’t find option to cancel?

Where do you cancel your subscription? I can’t find it either on the web or the iOS app. Does anyone know if there’s some trick to canceling while you’re in the trial period?

I just bought a Plaud device and I signed up for the trial of their pro service for speaker recognition. I’m still technically in the trial period but I want to cancel before the subscription fee is billed since they’ve killed the feature I wanted.

Announcements Heads up: watch out for phishing messages pretending to be Plaud

Hey everyone,

We've seen some reports of people getting messages that claim to be from Plaud but aren't. They usually show up as a DM, an email, or a comment offering a NDA, free device, a "giveaway win," a refund, or a warning that your account needs to be verified.

A few things that help:

  • We'll never DM you asking for your password, payment details, or a verification code.
  • Official links only go to [plaud.ai / official domain]. If a link looks slightly off (extra letters, odd endings, a shortened URL), don't click it.
  • Giveaways are announced publicly here or on our official channels, never out of the blue in DMs.
  • Real support comes from [support email] or through the app. If you're unsure whether a message is legit, ask in modmail and we'll check.

If you've already clicked something or shared login info, change your password right away and reach out to support so they can help.

And if you spot one of these, please report the account and drop us a modmail with a screenshot. It helps us warn others faster.

Thanks for looking out for each other.

Product Feedback Voice matching is gone

Plaud just wiped the voice matching capability today. It was one of their greatest selling points, highly advertised in their home page, to ask you once to tell to whom that voice belong and then remembering that forever. I used Plaud because of that and because of historical context queries. My perceived value of this tool just dropped 50%.

The argument was obvious: Privacy concerns. But wasn't this "concern" already there before? Since like.... forever?

The very reason that I chose Plaud VS competitors was this very capability. Plaud's competitors were already limited and not offering voice matching. I thought that Plaud found a legal way to continue offering that. It seems like they weren't and looks like someone messed up.

If you go to their feature backlog development, the enhanced voice management is being actively developed.

Something happened that forced them to disable the feature, and if they don't re-enable this soon they will loose not only me but thousands of other customers.

Discussion Former Plaud exec raises $26M for AI app that listens to you in the background

Thumbnail

Just came across my newsfeed this morning. While I appreciate my Plaud NotePin and am looking forward to using Plaud One, I'm not an "always listening" type of user. And I haven't found it useful for capturing notes-to-self.

With Sandbar Stream Ring targeted more at the personal spur-of-the-moment thinking out loud and notes, and now this at the other extreme, I wonder how fatigued we're about to get with public recording. And will the privacy laws catch up?

Discussion Plaud has removed a valuable feature we paid for. How is this acceptable?

UPDATE: PLAUD HAS RESPONDED, BUT HASN’T ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS

Plaud’s official account (u/PLAUD_AI) has now confirmed that removing automatic recognition of previously identified speakers was an intentional decision.

However, their response doesn’t explain WHY the functionality was removed, why customers weren’t warned beforehand, or why saved speaker profiles were permanently deleted.

Nor have they explained whether a consent-based replacement is planned or what remedies might be available to paying subscribers.

Instead, we’re being directed to customer support.

I find it particularly disappointing that the official response is pinned and locked, preventing customers from replying directly to it.

Plaud, this isn’t an individual account-support issue. It’s a product decision affecting your customer base, and it deserves a transparent, public explanation.

Can someone from Plaud’s product leadership please address these questions properly?

Original post below:-

I’ve just opened Plaud Web and been greeted with a notification informing me that automatic speaker recognition has effectively been downgraded.

Apparently, Plaud will now only recognise my own voice. All other speakers, including people previously identified across multiple recordings, will need to be manually labelled every single time.

Worse still, Plaud states that previously saved speaker profiles have been permanently removed.

I’m genuinely astonished by this decision.

One of the principal benefits of Plaud was its ability to recognise recurring participants in meetings, reducing the administrative burden of producing accurate transcripts and summaries. That is precisely the sort of functionality people purchase an AI recording device and subscribe to an ongoing service for.

Now we’re expected to go backwards, manually identifying the same people in every recording.

I appreciate that privacy and data protection are important, but surely there are more proportionate solutions, including consent-based recognition, rather than simply removing an established feature?

What particularly concerns me is:

1.No meaningful advance warning or consultation. Customers appear to have discovered this through a pop-up.

2.Permanent deletion of existing speaker profiles. Why weren’t customers given an opportunity to preserve their data?

3.Loss of functionality during an existing subscription. We’re now receiving a less capable service than the one we originally purchased.

4.Inconsistent documentation. Plaud’s own support material has described recognising previously labelled speakers across recordings.

5.No clear explanation or remedy. Is this permanent? Will the feature return? Are affected subscribers entitled to any adjustment?

This isn’t an enhancement or a minor interface change. It is the withdrawal of a genuinely useful capability.

I’m increasingly concerned about companies selling AI products on the promise of improving productivity, only to remove established functionality after customers have invested in the hardware, subscriptions and associated workflows.

Plaud, if you’re reading this, please explain the decision, whether you intend to reverse it, and what you propose to do for affected customers.

Has anyone received a substantive explanation from Plaud support, rather than a generic response?

I’d also be interested to know whether others are reconsidering their subscriptions as a result.

How Do I... (Usage Question) Audio recording

Discussion Plaud, we paid for remembered speakers. Why are we relabelling every meeting?

We bought Plaud to save time. On Sunday, 11 October, our meeting workflow started giving that work back to us.

Recurring speakers previously recognised by name are now “Speaker 2”, “Speaker 3”, and “Speaker 4”. Speaker separation still works. What has stopped working for us is remembering the same people across recordings.

We use Plaud at our company and spent months building up labels for colleagues and customers, with their consent. This was a major reason I chose the product. Now employees have to rename speakers in each meeting and regenerate summaries so the correct names appear. Across a team, that is recurring paid work.

Meanwhile, Plaud’s own documentation still describes recognising speakers in future recordings.

Plaud owes affected customers a clear explanation and a concrete remedy. If this functionality has been deliberately withdrawn during existing subscriptions, where was the advance notice? Why should customers absorb the extra work?

The issue is straightforward: a benefit we relied on has stopped working, the documentation still describes it, and the cost of the missing automation now falls on us.

Affected customers may have options before renewal:

  • EU consumers: Article 19 of Directive (EU) 2019/770 provides termination rights for qualifying changes that impair use by more than a minor amount, through national implementing law. In Germany, § 327r BGB sets advance-notice requirements and provides a 30-day right to terminate without charge, subject to its statutory conditions. The period runs from the required notice or change, whichever is later. § 327r(5), together with § 327o, governs applicable refunds, including unused prepaid subscription periods. Business contracts and hardware refunds need separate assessment. EU directive, § 327r BGB, § 327o BGB.

  • Misleading advertising: Advertising an unavailable feature can raise misleading-marketing concerns under § 5(1), (2)(1) UWG in Germany and Section 5 FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. § 45(a), in the US. US customers can report concerns to the FTC or state consumer protection authorities. Individual refund rights depend on the contract and applicable law; the FTC does not resolve individual complaints. German law, FTC complaint guidance, FTC advertising rules.

Save the feature claims, purchase terms and any change notices. Request restoration or an appropriate remedy in writing. Where termination rights apply, expressly exercise them rather than simply turning off auto-renewal. If unresolved, pursue the refund or complaint route available to you.

I am reviewing these options for myself and our team, including legal enforcement if necessary. I would rather Plaud restore the functionality.

There are alternatives: Otter still documents learning speakers for future conversations. Plaud supports audio export, and Otter accepts imported recordings. The hardware investment is frustrating, but exported audio can be processed elsewhere. Automating that handoff is worth exploring where supported; it needs testing. Any applicable refund could help fund the switch.

Has anyone else experienced this? Which alternatives reliably remember recurring speakers?

Plaud: restore the functionality customers relied on. If you are withdrawing it, clearly state what cancellation and refund options affected customers have. A feature that won you customers can become the reason they leave.

We paid to save time. We should not have to become the automation.
