Resources No-Rinse Shampoo Gloves and Soap

I don't know how many people know about these, but no-rinse shampoo gloves are an easy way to wash your hair quickly. They're made to be very gentle on your hair, but still get it clean. It's probably not as effective as a full shampoo/conditioner routine, but if you can't shower it's something at least. I buy mine at the retail pharmacy I work at (they're with the incontinence supplies and durable medical equipment section in my store), but I'm sure they're able to be bought online. Just wanted to let people know about it because I know a lot of us struggle with showering, especially when you gotta put your arms over your head.

There's also no-rinse soap, which is the same concept. You apply it to your skin, then use a towel to dry yourself off and remove any dirt. It's also in the incontinence aisle at my store.

I've found both of these to be super helpful and I hope they can help other people :)

Thank you! I knew about the no rinse soap/wipes, but didn’t realize they have ones for hair too. Luckily I’m able to shower with a chair, but I have a surgery coming up that’s going to make even that difficult. The only thing I had come up with was getting my hair braided, like double French or Dutch braids, and buying a bunch of dry shampoo.

You're welcome!! I wish you the best of luck with the surgery and recovery!

No rinse shampoo is the best! With really short hair you can also do an extra couple of scrubs over the scalp with a damp washcloth before towelling and then you're left with no leftover residue at all. It's how I wash my hair in bed a lot of the time.

Can you use it on colored hair?

My hair is actually dyed green! It took a tiny little bit off, but nothing really noticeable. No more than a regular wash would take out.

I love no rinse shampoo. I don't usually struggle to shower for POTS related reasons, but it definitely makes me feel less filthy and miserable when I can't get myself to shower, along with bath wipes
