Rant/Rage Rage

My primary started me on birth control initially and the BC exacerbated my rage and I was a crying mess. She then decided to put me on the estrogen patch. And I cannot contain my rage anymore. I'm so incredibly angry. I'm on the lowest dose, has anyone had success upping their dose to combat rage? I'm also on 200mg of progesterone at bedtime.

To be fair, I've always been a little bit angry but that only used to come out when I got pushed too far and currently everything and everyone is pissed me off. And while I can control myself in just situations, there's definitely more angry outbursts after beginning hormones.

Do I maybe need to wait a bit longer before being on HRT? I will be seeing my primary next month.

I was told 6 weeks is when I could expect things to improve if they were to improve. My rage was prison level and i got started on patch and progesterone and by week 7/8 my rage was so less than it was. I’m now month 4 and my rage has literally disappeared along with most of my symptoms

Give it time. How long have you been on this? If it’s only a few weeks then give it a bit more time

Just about 6 weeks! What dose are you on? I hope my rage disappears soon to. I feel so incredibly unhinged.

I’m on 200mg progesterone cyclical and evorel 50 patches

Have any of your other symptoms improved? I’d give it another few weeks and see if anything does improve if not you may need a higher dose

No, no symptoms have improved. It seems like things have gotten worse, honestly.

How long have you been on the patch?

1 1/2 months. I hate that we don't have tests that give us a difinitive answer of what we need.

Drs say 3-4 months to fully adapt/integrate hrt.

One of the… gifts? Of perimenopause is that we lose our filter and our people-pleasing. That said, estrogen is the happy hormone. If the patch isn’t helping I would ask for another route of delivery.

I was already pretty opinionated and ragey without Peri 🤣 This is next level! I'm going to get myself in trouble. I'm really at a point where if I'm pushed, just right, I'm going to beat someone's ass.

I hear that. I would ask about increasing the estrogen!

I'm going to see my primary early next month and address how I'm feeling with her.

Give it a few weeks. It doesn't take long, but it's not instant.

Loss of estrogen = loss of serotonin. My doc let me increase estradiol patch dose every few weeks. You have to say you're having hot flashes tho.

I am having hot flashes which I didn't have until I started on BC and they haven't subsided with HRT.
