Our house is inside this food forest!
Hey folks!
Took us some time to grow all of these and still growing a lot of new plants and trees.
Here's our food forest in Kerala, India! Being a Permaculture practitioner I rely on natural succession than any other methods of regeneration.
Observe-design-observe again- then implement!
Thank you for the support and love.

Thank you so much! We are growing almost all sorts of native plants and trees, have a well, a pond and fish in it. Used to have poultry and a dog. We also sell vegetable seedlings and compost from our home :)

One day I wish to be in the situation that I feel like I have enough compost to sell!

Hey that is amazing. And very similar to what I plan to do in India itself. Do you have any youtube channel where you document about it? Would love to know so I can do it too.

I knew mongoose was a natural predator for cobras, I didn't know water monitor lizards are. YOu just taught me something new. Won't the venom kill a cat or a dog, though?
In North America the only marsupial is an oppossum and they can take up to 75 venomous strikes from both rattlesnakes and copperheads, so their blood is a good source of antivenom.

Thanks. Yes most of the cats and dogs (locally) have been battling snakes since time immemorial. Most of the strikes they can dodge. My dog (rip) has killed two vipers, that was it. Then no more vipers here. Yes they do get bitten at times. I have seen them recovering from bites, mostly because they got only a portion of the venom due to their fur coat.
We do have a rat snake which belongs to the constrictor family and eats other snakes like cobras and vipers.
Yes water monitor lizards can eat snakes and their eggs. We also have birds which alert when there is a snake.
Then you have me and my parents who can listen to the sound of the leaves and identify it it's a rat or a snake. .
Also the food forest is designed with clear walkways and visibility around edges and snake probable areas. Still the same rule of working in a jungle is applied while working here. Like when you pick up a stone or move a pile of wood.

The mix of concrete pillars and dense foliage is such a cool contrast
