Its the hardest part of having them, but when she cant get around and needs hand feeding, the kindest thing is letting her go before she suffers more. You gave her 14 good years, she knows that. Talk to your vet about at home euthanasia if you can, it helps them pass peaceful in their own space.

There's no real answer for this. I've always said "Never let their worst day, be their last day." We are able to let our animal family members pass with dignity, so we should give them that. She knows you love her. The decision is never easy, no matter when you make it. I wish so much healing for your heart, friend. ❤️

I lost my dearest cat after a stroke at 14 years old. I had him put to sleep because I loved him more than anything and I didn’t want him to suffer more and be scared.

I know how hard this is, but it is time. It will be better for both of you to do it sooner rather than later.

You’ve taken such good care of her. If the vet says there’s nothing more they can do to keep her comfortable, letting her go might be the kindest thing you can do, even though it’s so hard. Maybe ask if it can be done at home, where she feels safe, with you holding her. Stay close and keep telling her you love her.

There is no right time, but better early than late. And better with you by her than alone while you are traveling.
