Community Events Deutschenpfest - what to expect?

Expect a good, chill time. Expect to run into someone you know. Expect some fun music and expect to pay alittle too much for a soda from the local scout troop.

yes, but it is a fund raiser for those kids, and they use that to go to camp. in this economy, it is hard, but they get camp!

Don't get so drunk that you profess undying love for the local government and you'll be just fine.

Also, Uber to the path on Parkview it's much easier

Parking is a problem. Take the shuttle if you don't live nearby. It's not overcrowded. If you want you can get right up to the front to watch the band. The bands will sign autographs for a price usually during the daylight hours.

It's real laid back. Bring a lawn chair if you want. As with any event everything will be overpriced.

We love this festival. It is fun and laidback. As others mentioned, use the shuttle or Uber. The city has some Uber vouchers to make your ride half price within the city limits.

I'm pretty much assuming this is a giant orgy, and am planning accordingly. 

Still vacillating on Astroglide or good ol fashioned Coconut oil, but that might be a game time decision.

As others said, use the shuttle or a rideshare. Pfluger Park has bad parking even on an ordinary day, you're gonna be parking 10 blocks back in neighborhoods if you try to just go there.

Other than that, it's just a small festival. Grab a drink, listen to music. Maybe join in on the stein holding contest or something!

I always suggest taking folding chairs or a lawn blanket, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and wear a hat.
