I am so sick of getting throttled just because i dont live in japan
Its honestly so fucking annoying how this GLOBALLY accessible site slows down your connection because you arent located in japan.

seems fine for me. if any site feels like that, it's pawoo, can barely browse before it needs a 10min cooldown to start loading images again

because you arent located in japan.
More like a USA/UK issue, and with just reasons really.

Oceania gets this issue as well

True, it really feels like Australia wants to end like UK with aussies being monitored 24/7, no clue if New Zealand has been a thorn in the side like the other 3 though.

If this is in reference to ID for sites, NZ is watching the Australian rollout and seeing how it goes, and needing ID is really only a last resort as there's so many other ways of proving you're an adult. That's the main reason why Steam is being criticized by Australians for its rollout as they only allow credit cards. Also, sites are required to have ways other than government ID.
And besides, pixiv having loading issues has been off and on for since early Covid days, maybe even earlier.

Not only ID related stuff but mostly shit like collective shouts, that's why I called them yet another thorn.

Payment processors would have eventually done it on their own, they tend to be reluctant to allow porn-related stuff.

I mean, we can play what if, but as things are playing out it's, again, a matter of those 3 specific places' agendas.

Just download a vpn. It happened to me too, and someone recommended I get a vpn, and it completely fixed the issue. You don't even need to connect to Japan most of the time.

I'm using a VPN right now and it's not really helping
Edit: I deleted site data and thats helping for now

So that's how it works when accessing the site from overseas. I guess it's probably to avoid some silly interference from credit card companies? Just a guess, though.

I personally see a strong correlation between slow load times and hours where I would expect Japanese users to be active. Browsing at times where Japanese people are sleeping or at work is a much better experience than when they are awake at home.

From SEA and I don't get this issue, probably just an Europe USA and Oceania problem.

If you want to blame someone, blame the people who scrape images and data in Pixiv. They make the site slow.
