I don't think so. 45% of Scots wanting to leave in 2014 was pretty close when we had the EU. Wales could just change tune and say 'but we wanted out the EU' for a favourable counter point.
Yep - all that’s happening right now is Trump is distracting from Iran and Epstein files and the nationalists who’ve spent the last 10 years decrying Brexit now want their own Brexit because the orange pedo has brought it to the main stage.
Imagine thinking an independent wales is good because trump said so 😂
I think give it a week and the topic will die down. Scotland is one thing, but anyone who really believes Wales could do it alone are massively deluded, there is no industry or a sustainable infrastructure there. They have wind farms though?
The UK can still decide to join the EU as a whole, but Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland still want to become members of full-right. The Union still have to accept them in (they may want to wait untill the UK solve their identity crisis first anyway, else it would be importing it) and the negotiation can still takes a few years.
In the end, it could very well be like on 31/12/20XX, it's one country called the UK, outside of the EU. And on the 1st of January they become four distinct members of the EU.
Or they can go the way the current Belgian PM is swinging. He's a Flemish autonomist and allied himself with Walloon parties to basically dissolve the federal government in all but name and integrate whatever relevant to the EU level and distribute the rest of the responsibilities to the local/regional level.
