I swear unionist talking points require you to disengage your brain before speaking. Scotland's continuing existence (and Wales') prove they have self sustaining economies.
And what do you even mean by self-sustaining economies anyway? Countries are just places where people live through accident of birth and thusly they simply make do because that is necessary to survive. If people can physically survive here (and they obviously can), then the economy is self-sustaining.
Then why are both Scotland and Wales lavished with huge block grants from Westminster to enable them to function. Essentially England pays for their continued existence.

The money is pretty much the absolute minimum Westminster thinks it can get away with sending to Scotland and Wales.
It is a necessary function because neither Scotland nor Wales has their own currency. Without it there literally would be no money in Scotland or Wales (or not for very long as what there is is hoovered up by tax).
Essentially England pays for their continued existence.
You have it quite wrong. Even if the Scottish and Welsh government didn't exist there would have to be a fiscal transfer from the central government just to provide cash for use.
But if you really have convinced yourself that England pays for Scotland and Wales then you should consider voting for a party which will eject them out of the union.

But who will pay the bills for the others now?
