Texas has three things that keep them in power: 1-“low taxes” (so they continue to believe) - policies are actually regressive and hurting most in the state); 2-oil industry-many people employed in that industry; 3-favorable business conditions-encouraging more companies to move there, but similar to Florida, companies (and their people) eventually realize it’s not as great as they thought it would be. It’s one big illusion of greatness that persists. But eventually that will change. It must.
