Republicans spend decades doing everything they can to make it harder to survive in the US. Democrats, who have a lot of their own problems, make efforts to help people, especially at the state and city level. People migrate to blue cities because they offer more social programs to try to help people, have more culture, etc. Cities and states can't print money so programs are overwhelmed. Republicans make sure the federal government provides no real help to anyone, unless of course they are large campaign contributors, in which case our tax money is funneled to them (Democrats are of course corporate whores as well). Meanwhile, a large percentage of drooling Republican voters are on federal welfare while complaining about places they've never been and know nothing about that are actually paying for what little help they receive.
