The most genuinely palpable irony in history:

Trump's GRANDFATHER not great-grandfather etc, his father's father, came to America in 1885. 16 years old, unaccompanied minor, didn't speak a word of English, and technically in violation of Bavarian emmigration law at the time.

Trump's own grandfather would be thrown into alligator Alcatraz if he had come to the US under his grandson's administration.

51

u/Wise-Secretary5459 10d ago

Then his son because a Nazi Sympathizer. Crazy how fast that family went downhill.

u/TehNudel 10d ago edited 9d ago

This is more like an apple not falling far from the tree situation.

Bavaria is in Germany, think the Texas of Germany.

Trump's father Fred was arrested at a Klan rally in New York City in May 1927. When the US entered WW2, he hid his German heritage, donated to Jewish causes, and tried to convince people he was Jewish, because New York has a high Jewish population. He then tried to claim he was Swedish and even claimed he was born in New Jersey.

According to his granddaughter Mary (DJT's niece), her grandfather (Trump's dad) was "quite anti-Semitic".

So the grifting, racist, anti-Semitic apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

6

u/Wise-Secretary5459 10d ago

Is Bavaria really like that? That's too bad honestly. I always heard that Bavaria was the prettiest part of Germany. I love the architecture there from everything I've seen.

21

u/TehNudel 10d ago edited 10d ago

It is pretty. It has a lot of the traditional culture people think of when they think of Germany (lederhosen, dirndl, etc). But, as in the US, places where tradition is revered, tend to be racist and hostile to change.

My ex is from a small town in Bavaria. His uncle is the town's archivist and he's literally waiting on some people to die before releasing some of their records because they prove they were Nazis or Nazi sympathisers. WW2 was not that long ago and some of those ppl are still alive.

7

u/Wise-Secretary5459 9d ago

Wow. That's an eye opening story to hear. I still haven't visited the country, but it's high on my bucketlist. What you said about tradition makes a lot of sense actually, I have never considered that before.

6

u/Kwazipig 9d ago

German joke a Bavarian friend told me. In Germany there are three mental institutions. One in Berlin, one in Stuttgart and we built a roof over Bavaria.

3

u/erica_pink84 9d ago

Bavaria, specifically Munich, was seen by the Nazis as the birthplace of the movement. The Beer Hall Putsch, the rallies. While the government was centered in Berlin/Prussia for historical reasons, Hitler hated the place and spent most of his time in Bavaria.

14

u/Perscitus0 10d ago

Not just technically. His grandfather dodged a draft, and when he came slinking back, after a time, his draft dodging was noticed, and he was subsequently deported. It's interesting how his own grandfather had this sort of history, and other members of his family also have close immigration ties. Melania Trump was born as Melanija Knavs in Yugoslavia, now Slovenia. His whole family is so close to immigration stuff that it's crazy how much effort he expends in denying those privileges he enjoys to others.

8

u/Whyonthefly 9d ago

Ladder-pulling is a time-honored Republican sport

6

u/Zeliose 9d ago

Didn't his Grandpa illegally enter the US twice? I heard he left America to run a brothel in Canada (in that time period I imagine the brothel likely employed minors) and then came back to the US with the Canadian brothel money.

-5

u/dolphinsdorapes 9d ago

Fan fiction. You guys are weird.

7

u/Zeliose 9d ago

No, looks like my memory was mostly correct.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/trump-canada-yukon-1.3235254

-5

u/dolphinsdorapes 9d ago

Except the brothel and underage part but hey
you just can’t help yourself, can you?

6

u/Kristoveles 9d ago

Trump will never love you

0

u/dolphinsdorapes 9d ago

Cool story
still doesn’t mean his grandfather ran a brothel with underaged girls though

6

u/Zeliose 9d ago

"of course he would have liquor. Of course he would arrange easy access to women."

What else would you call that business?

0

u/dolphinsdorapes 9d ago

A bar/restaurant/hotel

2

u/InstructionFinal5190 10d ago

I wasn't aware Trump's grandfather was brown skinned.

36

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky3141 10d ago

He wants to be memorialized, right...? This is the memorial others think he deserves

10

u/InstructionFinal5190 10d ago

Not thinks, knows. Trump isn't a subtle and mysterious creature. One doesn't have to guess at what kind of person Trump is.

So, it's not what they think of him, it's what they know him to be.

1

u/SquidTheRidiculous 9d ago

He knows once he's dead every sordid secret will be exposed. And everyone will pretend they were always against what he didm

1

u/laggy1 9d ago

Not good enough, let's scale it up to size of statue of liberty and ship it to idk florida

12

u/Wise-Secretary5459 10d ago

This is how most Americans see him too. Unfortunately, it isn't enough. If it weren't for gerrymandering and a flawed electoral voting system, Trump never would have happened. We'd be right up there with our European allies in terms of progressivism. This country has been carefully designed to stifle any sort of positive change.

2

u/Mindless_Connection 9d ago

Also 30% of Americans citizens chose not to vote in 2024

-12

u/Temujin15 9d ago

Keep telling yourself that. Trump is what you want. It's who you are. Everyone outside your country sees it.

12

u/SaturnCITS 9d ago

He's not wrong, the media is owned by a handful of billionaires that manipulate the gullible into voting against their own interests. Combine that with the dumbest parts of the country getting more voting power than the smartest parts plus gerrymandering and you get Trump and Republicans.

Giving uneducated country people more voting power than educated cities was a death sentence from the start.

1

u/Friendly_Visit_3068 8d ago

At some point, you guys need to learn the concept of accountability.

Voting adults are making a choice. They're not some poor misguided victims. Just go read some of the leopards eating faces posts of the last ten years. They are perfectly aware and fine with the suffering they are causing, they just don't think they'll be on the receiving end.

-7

u/Temujin15 9d ago

Just constant, endless excuses. Trump is getting away with it because none of you are doing anything about it.

4

u/Wise-Secretary5459 9d ago

What do you want us to do, exactly? Be specific.

-3

u/Temujin15 9d ago

Organise, protest and strike. A general strike would bring all this to a halt in a week.

9

u/Wise-Secretary5459 9d ago

Strike? And lose our healthcare, homes, life savings? This isn't Europe. We have no safety net here. This is by design specifically to prevent organized rebellion. Try again. The only realistic way for the average American to create change is to purchase a gun and start shooting politicians and billionaires, and things haven't gotten bad enough for that yet.

0

u/Friendly_Visit_3068 8d ago

The best time to do something was decades ago. The second best time is now. It's only going to get harder and meanwhile you'll just keep losing more and more of the comforts you're holding onto.

3

u/Gatonom 9d ago

Do you really think that people just don't want change? That all it takes is one person quitting his job and fixing it in a week?

1

u/RedrunGun 9d ago edited 9d ago

A general strike would stop most administrations, because most administrations want the country to function. This is not that. Trump is not just some stupid and greedy president who is breaking the law. Trump is a Russian asset, as are many in his cabinet, and they do not want the country to function at all. They literally are working to destroy the country, they just want enough plausible deniability to not be hanged for it. The idea of hurting the government until it does what we want only works if the people in charge of the government want it to be healthy.

7

u/Wise-Secretary5459 9d ago

Statistically this simply isn't true, so stop saying this. He lost the popular vote in 2016 and 2020, and anyone who has been paying attention should be very skeptical that the 2024 was a fair election. Rebublican policies have been unpopular with the majority as far back as I can remember. This isn't a subjective opinion, it's what the data shows. I don't blame you at all for being bitter towards America, but don't succumb to lies and misinformation. Leave that to republicans.

5

u/MajorAtmosphere8158 9d ago

Yes, you, who has never met the person across the screen from you, are absolutely right and know everything about every American. You can tell what’s on all our minds and are capable of making a 100% accurate reading of 342 million people you have never met. Go touch grass.

3

u/3Duder 9d ago

He's so unpopular, he's doing to the Republicans what he did to the conservatives in Canada.

8

u/Tom1952Phx 10d ago

Appropriate. Also how 1 in 5 MAGA voters see him. That’s only 20% of GOP have awaken. Hopefully MORE

4

u/Better-Cherry-7512 10d ago

Accurate! That's the image he see on the mirror too.

3

u/AnxiousHall1533 9d ago

As a citizen of the United States thats how I view the regime as well. And their fucking cultists.

3

u/LordNeko6 9d ago

The whole world tbh

2

u/wikidemic 9d ago

It’s good to see Europeans acknowledging the BOPOS. (bloated orange POS)

2

u/Cardocthian 9d ago

Don't worry, some  right wing loser will come and yell how we are respected around the world thanks to trump, and this is actually a great thing showing trump onto of the world!...and he will actually believe it

2

u/BALR-NL 9d ago

True

1

u/FrequentCow1018 9d ago

Not the US. Trump and his useful idiots

1

u/TouchAltruistic 9d ago

How they view Trump

1

u/ProfessionalRow9107 9d ago

One is a statue of Satan the other is a statue of 2 of the 72 legions of Demon followers

1

So disrespectful

u/codewordGnome 8d ago

A man can never step into the same river twice....

1

u/SLAMMERisONLINE 8d ago

How Europe views the US.

Yep, they are no longer acting like allies. Time to terminate NATO and end the parasitic relationship EU has on the US's economy.

1

u/Crazy-Accountant-286 10d ago

How the world views the US minus fascists, tyrants, and pedophiles.

1

u/BingleFlip94 9d ago

It’s funny, but several European countries are literally on track to vote in their versions of Trump.

1

u/CellPuzzleheaded99 9d ago

Yes. Because after Russia the US started sponsoring right wing parties over here. Krasnov at it again

Europe is a continent.

1

u/lostcause1864 4d ago

And it is,well not Poland they just got rid of most of theirs

-2

u/lostcause1864 10d ago

Oh shit i jumped the gun on that thanx for pointing it out

0

u/usumoio 9d ago

They're acting like between those two dates they didn't create a fair number of dudes who were really good at messing everything up.

We'll fix it, just give us some time

2

u/Don_Reuter 9d ago

I don’t think you will. That line had some credit during the first trump term. Now, not so much.

3

u/usumoio 9d ago

Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

-1

u/Responsible_Net_9658 9d ago

(Best snobby continental voice): Valid Trump representation but do remember that the minority of us who care enough to Google international news can see what's going on in your countries, too.

-6

u/KeyTumbleweed5903 9d ago

u wanna see how we view Europe and yes i live in this cesspit

4

u/kingamesthe3rd 9d ago

Maybe where you live but I find most of Europe delightful.

-4

u/KeyTumbleweed5903 9d ago

its not the place its the policies

4

u/Don_Reuter 9d ago

No, it’s not. I live in Europe and I love having rights.

1

u/KeyTumbleweed5903 8d ago

yeah i love having my phone and sites censored :)

1

u/Don_Reuter 8d ago

Yeah, non of that is happening. But if it would, it still would be magnitudes better than getting gunned down by ICE thugs for being loyal to your countries constitution.

-14

u/Ephisus 10d ago

Don't take this as an endorsement of anything either way, but I could not care less what Europe thinks.

Firstly; IRL the Spartans were a bunch of slave-owners who had repeatedly violated deals with the Persian Empire.

Secondly; the current protests in France have nothing to with Islam.

-2

u/inpecto 9d ago

Bullshit. Get off tik tok. Muslims are the reason in France.
And who in your hell would want to deal with Xerxes? Wait. Just look at the examples of the left right now. They would jump on that perverted caravan instantly.

6

u/DutchVandal 9d ago

It's not like there's no problems with Islam in France; but no, these particular protests have nothing to do with it.

And the stories of Persian 'perversion' from that time are well known to be Greek propaganda - the invasion of Greece by Persia was in response to all sorts of nonsense by the Greek city states (to be fair, it's kind of on the Persians in a 'fool me once' sort of way).

-1

u/inpecto 9d ago

Persia didn’t rule the world and weren’t respected.

4

u/DutchVandal 9d ago

Dunno what ruling the world has to do with it; or respected for that matter. Though, this particular iteration of the Persian Empire was founded by Cyrus the Great - called out specifically as a great man in the Old Testament. Not much, but I can't think of anything comparable about other ancient nations/empires.

Look, 300 was a fine movie - but it's mostly lies.

-5

u/Hot-Minute-8263 9d ago

We stopped just giving them stuff, this is expected

1

u/CellPuzzleheaded99 9d ago

We buy your stuff...read the news (not Fox)

-5

u/Beginning_Painter_57 9d ago

The only Americans who care what Europe thinks of us have TDS.

-7

u/painfully_truthful 9d ago

Sorry I don’t have time to read all these comments, I’m too busy watching France burn to the ground as they attempt to be all things American liberals want the US to be.

5

u/Don_Reuter 9d ago

No, your too busy making up random bullshit scenarios in your head.

The USA wasn't half as affected from the second World War as other industrial nations and was therefore able to set up the backend of the banking system. That gave them the edge to capitalise from the start along introducing their new form of 'Western culture' as a propaganda tool.

2

u/CornelXCVI 9d ago

It's baffling that the US still has a strong hold on the banking industry. They are still using cheques and haven't even figured out IBANs

2

u/jan_Osuma 9d ago

In many aspects they're still very much stuck in 1945

-1

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 10d ago

Yeah that’s how it works when your countries cant stop invading armies
btw I heard Germany is building up the largest army in Europe, building “the first EU approved remigratiom hubs” and is getting increasingly right-wing.” Good luck with that
 again.

1

u/jan_Osuma 9d ago

Which is a bit ironic as all European countries are building up armies (Germany and France are the leaders there due to economy and population) as the USA threatened two of them with military actions.

What do you think DJT isn't very much liked over her. We take the US threats seriously.

1

u/Sienile 10d ago

I really hate how true that is.

-3

u/Mandalore108 9d ago edited 9d ago

America is still the strongest economy and military in the world and Europe is right to be fearful of Trump and his administration. This isn't a positive by the way, Trump is an unhinged lunatic.

-28

u/Familiar_Builder8090 10d ago

lol Europe is a trash heap so ironic

6

u/StellarPaladin42 10d ago

Then that would make another bad investment by Republicans. So much for the Marshall Plan lol

-9

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 10d ago

Isn’t Europe currently on fire?

9

u/Just_Cartographer258 10d ago

Lol.. what?

-9

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 10d ago

Are we going to pretend there arent massive protests in France, Spain, and the UK about their respective leadership’s treating inhumanely in regards to laws, wages, migration, housing
. Like cool post, but that’s some stone throwing from some thin glassed house.

9

u/Just_Cartographer258 10d ago

Lol.. their some small protest going on so let's pretend the world is on fire.. lol..

-5

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 10d ago

Which one is small, “the largest student protest since the 1960’s” in France? That small one? 😂

8

u/Just_Cartographer258 10d ago

Is France the whole of Europe.. your original statement is laughable R..

1

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 9d ago

France, UK, and Spain may not be the “whole of Europe,” but I’d say it’s a significant chunk of it 😂

4

u/Simple-Reference7853 9d ago

You got to to realize That It is an international fight.

The No Kings Demonstrations where the biggest one in the History of your Country.(Something i would Not mention as an negative but as a Positive)

But appart from the widespread Injustice in the world. Usa became the biggest laughing Stock.

Even for conservatives.

Its similar Like in the deepest Times of absolutism where the french King thought He was Made of Glas.

Totaly Out of Touch with reality.

1

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 9d ago

Yea yeah, so anyway. Belgium , France, Spain, and the UK are having riots due to what is happening in their own countries, because of their own laws, because of their own policies, and own leaders. Orange man has nothing to do with them or some “international fight.”

Nice try there bo t.

1

u/Simple-Reference7853 9d ago

No you are just Stupid.

Trumps already brobeling about some Muslims in France and shit.

Like i already said. Thats positive. France will get better Schools and Spain will get better housing. And after November USA will get an better President.

0

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 9d ago

Ah, will they? Affordable housing and Quality housing do not mean the same thing. As for French schools, they do not even have the funding to sustain their current population for schools, many of which have been set on fire. Any idea how much Euro and time it’s going to take to source the material, purchase, transport, contract, hire, lobby, city plan, Blah blah blah
for? A TON. Even if they could afford it, you are looking at 2 to 10 years before it’s feasible. So what are you going to do with the current students, future students, and incoming students?

You have no idea how complex the solution is.

1

u/Simple-Reference7853 9d ago

Oh thats rich.

A bot playing complex discussion.

Would be a waste of time to further Talk with you.

So this is my Last response.

Of cause i know it Takes time and Money thats Not at all hard to understand.

Lets Focus more one the fact That you are Just stawmaning because they cristise your pedofile Leader.

No one in Spain is rioting in That Sense and even in the UK there is nothing going on.

The french Just have they own way of protesting but That also because of a very Bad acting Police force.

Of cause its an good oppurtunity for fox News and frends to Point the Finger to distract from the own dumpster fire and for your pathetic President to spread hate towards Muslims.

1

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 9d ago edited 9d ago

Funny that I can’t type bo t, without putting a space between the o and the t without it being flagged. Anyway, this automated chatterbot will just bury the thread with bs long winded replies. Sane person reading this, you know what’s going on here. Don’t let foreign agitators ruin your country or warp your mind. Solutions are not simple, but they are possible. Work with your fellow countrymen and dont destroy or hurt other people to attempt to get what you want.

1

u/Simple-Reference7853 9d ago

to that Sane person.

. This is just a simple fact check anybody reading this can use for example ground news and will in fact see that only red media in the us reports like this: "Are we going to pretend there arent massive protests in France, Spain, and the UK about their respective leadership’s treating inhumanely in regards to laws, wages, migration, housing
. Like cool post, but that’s some stone throwing from some thin glassed house." reason for the -9 likes

3

u/BumblebeeAutomatic84 9d ago

At least we can protest without getting shot lmao

0

u/Suspicious_Sense1272 9d ago

Yeah, in America if you fire explosive devices, attack female police officers and kick their heads in angry mobs, set fire to buildings, or use improvised flamethrowers
then run away from consequences, you are going to get shot. Not because you are “protesting,” but because you are a violent asshole that puts others in danger, and tried to flee the scene of a attempted murder, arson, or manslaughter crime.

-17

u/inpecto 10d ago

Ultimate fail. Did you watch the World Cup? America is as strong and powerful as ever. MAGA!!

13

u/Radiant_Television89 10d ago

What a weird thing to point at. What about the world cup hosted in the US, Canada, and Mexico is MAGA? Maybe you're referring to North America simply as America in this instance of MAGA?
